Just a question I was wondering if anyone has lifted an 05-07 Xterra OR. I am wanting to get 33's for mine next spring and I was hoping that I could do it with out trimming anything except the mud flaps which mother nature has already taken care for me.
It seems to be hard to find a complete kit to do a nice lift for my rig. I was looking at the 5in suspension lift from Calmini. I have heard mixed reports about Calmini. I am looking for something that is complete, this is still my daily driver and the vacation mobile. Has anybody out there done a lift on the 05-07 X and would I be able to put 33's on with this set up. I would like to stay away from a body lift, the tires that I have been thinking about are 285-75-16's. any info or pics would be nice.
Thanks
Jeremy

I'm running 285/75r16 tires on my Frontier with a 2" spacer kit and 2" blocks in the back.
I've done several lifts on the '05+ Xterras and Frontiers. None of the larger ones though. Fabtech also just came out with a kit for the Frontier, I believe one for the Xterra as well. It's also a 5" kit.
You can run those tires with a spacer kit alone. A little bit of trimming, even with the mudflaps off, will be necessary though. With a larger kit, they kick the lower control arm forwards, centering the wheel in the well, negating a lot of the trimming, but some will still be necessary.
I don't know if you're doing anything this weekend, but we're putting some coilovers, upper control arms and leaf packs in Scott Allen's '07 Xterra in Fort Collins.

It would nice to be able come this weekend but unfortunatly I have to man the ER for this labor day.
I got an e-mail back from Calmini that said that 285-75-16's will fit under there 5in, without trimming. I am not sure what I want to do yet the Calmini has some cutting that would make it impossible to go back to stock if I ever wanted or needed to. If anybody out there has done a lift kit on an 05-07 X any info would be helpful.

hey RN here is a great thread for new xterra lifts. I will be doing the 5in next spring, but there are some good options here also.

I do know that returning it to stock afterwards would be impossible. Well, I say impossible, but in all actuality, if you wanted it back to stock bad enough, it could be done.
I cut up trucks all day long, some with less than 10 miles on them. I work at 4 wheel parts, doing lift kits, gears, lockers, sliders, lights, etc. all day long. Most of the new stuff gets the sawzall within 1/2 hour or so of me getting them.
I think they say you can just about run a 35" tire with the 5" lift kit. If I can run that 285-75R16 with 2", then centering that tire in the well and lifting an additional 3" wouldn't be an issue at all. Heck, the 285-75 is damn near a 33" tire anyway. A 32.75" tire to be exact.
