While I was fighting my drive shaft adapter the other day I found something interesting on my Calmini sway bar cross member.

If you look just obove the yoke in this picture you can see a mark on the crossmember. When I hit a bump the yoke is hitting. (I know its a hugh pic but it was hard to make it out in the smaller one)

Other pics of my set up. the mounts are welded on straight as the directions say.

Any thoughts or ideas? Provided its not a hugh deal, since I don't plan to run a sway bar anymore, I'll just either notch the crossmember, or make a new one.

Are you using bump stops?

FYI: This is a problem on my d21 also...but mine hits the diff housing.

you could buy longer coils and gain some lift, use coil spacers, redesign the crossmember, or lower your bumpstops. Have you flexed your truck out yet to see how it responds to driver side and passenger side compression? I would do that first then look at the possibilities...

Right now I'm planning to just cut up the cross member, or make a new one. I just want to make sure there is not a bigger problem that is causing this. I have emailed calmini, but they want a pic with the tire off. I wont have time to do that till Monday.

Got my drive shaft on today. It only took $300 of exhaust work.

ok.... So are you telling me to cut the bitch up and I'll be fine? The only thing I need from that cross member is the skid plate tabs that mount the skid plate.

That is one option but make sure that the tube still has some rigidity to it because of the skid and it is part of the frame support.

Yeah, I think I'll probably just make a new cross member. I still have about 10 feet of square tubing that is is thicker then that xmember

Wow, it took $300 for the exhaust work to get done? I didn't know I saved myself that much money! :D

I know that Carlton had your same issue when he put his kit on, and Calmini blamed the pinion angle. I'd bet they do the same to you.

Leaf spring, still the only way to go!

I had a new high flow cat put on the drivers side. new pipe from the last 02 sensor back to the Y. Carlton also didn't weld his mounts on right. Mine are straighter then ron jeremy.
