Well, I dunno if there is problem...yet. But when I gun it or when I turn, SOMETIMES, I hear a thud and can kinda feel it in the floorboard? With that being said, would any of you know what it might be? I had my bro take a look under neath when I was havin him help me with a weld snapping issue. I don't think he saw anything, but I would still like to know if there is a serious issue, or even an issue at all. Let me know what you guys think and how I should go about checking it out. Thanks,
Jordan

When you turn really hard, like against the stops? If so, then it's your steering stops. Though they usually squeak (metal on metal type of squeak).

If not, then look at the very front crossmember. There are 4 bolts holding it in place, 17mm head I believe, and they might be a bit loose. Happens over time. Look around those 4 bolts for signs of them moving, or of the crossmember moving. Even if you don't see anything, tighten the hell out of them, and see if the noise is still there.

By the way, not a huge issue. Just some movement. If something falls off, and it's not the body, then it's a big issue.

My center link wore out so everytime I turned or hard on braking I got a clunk. When the center link wore out it shifted foward and knocked, the same happened under hard accel. the center link knocked back and forth. Jack the front end up and shake the tires and see what moves or moves very loosely.

It's not when I brake though. And it has been happening more or less in first gear when I floor it. Sometimes when I turn, not as often when I turn

I read in I think it was Bear's post about it possibly bein the auto hubs? I know that 1 should be brand new from the fact they had to install it after I bought my pathfinder. Would that be the reason of the thumping even in 2wd? Or would it still be the controlmember* bolts?

Well, I found out it was something to do with the sway bar. By process of elimination. I checked out the auto hubs by doin 4hi and 4lo and it worked fine. I did some tests to check the control arms. Then today at the gas station I got down and tugged on the sway bar, and it moved on the driver side, where I kept hearing the thuds. I pulled the passenger side one and it didn't move. So it's the bolt that holds the end of the sway bar in, it is really lose compared to the passenger side. So I have rust eater on the nut at the top of it right now, and about to go do a second dousing, then I will tighten it down and go from there. Any suggestions on how tight?

Well..now I found out it was worse. The hole in the control arm that the bolt goes through "egged". So the bolt grinded metal on metal and just screwed the control arm hole. So I am hoping to get a weld done and make it semi-better with a new bolt and a washer welded on.

Dude, just go get a new (used) control arm from a junkyard (if lower) (and upper if stock).

But I'm not too mechanically inclined beyond the fact of me twisting nuts and bolts. Mine is still stock, but I don't wanna have to unhook the torsion bar and disconnect it from the wheel and all that shit that is associated with it.

P.S.
No money........

LOL, control arm from a junk yard is cheap, that's why I suggested it. Ask around you'll get all the help you've ever needed. It just sounds like your repair is a little sketchy, and I'd rather see you driving around with something safe than something that might fall apart.

i've got two full pathfinder front suspensions in my back yard (minus UCAs). you can have anything you want from them, 2 left and 2 right lowers. torsion bars aren't that hard, the only hard part of the whole job will be one of the t-bar bracket bolts on the front bracket is a bitch to hold still when you are turning it. all it needs is a pry bar wedged in there though and it comes right out. let me know if you want that LCA.

Well I dunno anything about this like I said...so will the LCA work?
