So I got new wheels and tires the other day and went to get an alignment. Turns out my UCA bushing are toast so I ordered some new ones. They also said that the lower ball joint had some play in it.

For a while, I have been feeling a slight bump or thud when going over certain parts of a paved road. I never feel this going slowly, so offroad I don't feel it. That was the UCA bushings. I ordered some.

Regarding the lower ball joints, they are an integrated part of the lower control arm. Has anyone else had to replace these? I didn't actually see how much play there was in them. I'll get the truck up in the air again and look.

I know that several of you have had problems with the LCA cracking, but I've never heard any one say they had any problems with the ball joints.

To my knowledge no one, besides Total Chaos, makes aftermarket LCAs that allow the use of a replaceable ball joint. Am I wrong about this? Will the Total Chaos LCA work without the rest of their kit? I'm guessing no.

I don't want to have to replace the whole LCA for a freaking ball joint.

From what I've been fold You can replacejust the ball joint but you have to use a press. This means you would have to remove the LCA so why not just replace it. Thais what Ryan is doing to his X.
