my brother has 4runner and got it lifted and had to get a diff drop because he kept tearing cv axle's, i'm about to get my 2001 xterra lifted with the 3 in calmini lift and am wondering if i should do the same.
thanks

the toy front axles always spin (no hub lockouts), so with a lift the only way to keep the cv's alive is a manual hub conversion or a diff drop, or both. my brother's taco has manual hubs and a 4" drop bracket lift. most of the time your front axles won't turn, only when in 4wd, so less wear on the cv's. i think SLR makes off set bushings, not sure if they fit your year or not.

SLR does make a diff drop kit that fits your year, but you won't need it unless you go with the long travel kit.
