I just replaced the FSU on my 00 X and the SES light came on a day or two later. Is it possible the SES light will go away after a few tanks? Has anyone had this problem?

Hmmm. The first thought that comes to mind, purely as a wild guess, would be that the o-ring didn't seat properly on the new FSU and the leak is causing an evap system pressure code.
Go to Autozone or some other local parts store and have them pull the exact diagnostic codes for you. Also have them clear the code (sometimes for legal liability reasons they require you to push the actual buttons to clear the code), then see if it comes back. But even if they won't clear it for you, having the code will help a bunch.
