Hey everyone.
Got my 02 Manual S/C XE Xterra here...
Got a slight problem with the reverse.
Whenever I put it in reverse, the reverse lights don't always come on.
If I put in gear and then pull the stick towards me (so left), the lights go on, but as soon as I let go, they shut off.
Curious to know if there is some kind of adjustment/calibration that could be made for the reverse switch.
Thanks!

If you weren't such a piece of shit I might feel like helping you out. Hope someone else feels some sympathy for you.

Uhm...ok morgan.
And I have the same problem...from what I told there is a reverse switch on the tranny that needs to be replaced.

Is it internal? Or can I just replace it as if it was a speed sensor?

Sully, read this to understand. (http://www.roninwheelers.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=1582&highlight=amreboot)

Ok, so I admit that I did wrong. I got everything fixed between tmorgan and I.
So at this point I don't see the problem with asking question here for help. I can understand if people feel leery for trading with me, that I can fully understand.
But I just have a tech question.
Am I not allowed to ask?

I was afraid that with my recent ranting and generally curmudgeonly behavior I was gonna be perceived as the meanest person on the forum. Guess I can relax. :)
(And yeah, I do remember the background of why Tyler has a problem with the guy. And I'm a firm believer that once someone has mistreated you, they're fair game for future attacks. Hence my continual ranting about Calmini.)

Well, if it makes everyone here feel better, I won't bother asking to make any tradings here.
So all I ask is for the subject to drop.

If it makes you feel any better about yourself, you haven't offended me, but then I don't tend to care what folks think about me or how I make them feel. We can either be adults about this, or you can't.
If you ask my 10 yr old, you are not the meanest person on the forum. I am! :bannana:

haha, well ok.
I just hope that we can all be adults with what happened.
Knowing that I admitted guilt and fixed the problem, I really don't think that I should be flamed here.
Is that okay?

I wasn't flaming you, I was answering Sully's implied question. Glad to hear everything got worked out between you two, but obviously there is some bad blood still there.
There will be no restrictions on whether or not you can post tech questions or offer general input on the site.

Oh ok! Great!
So all ask (in the most mature, polite way) is that tmorgan stops flaming with posts like that.
I don't know what else more I can say.
So other than that...
Any input on my problem?

tmorgan shouldn't flame publically like that...but I can't do anything about that.
As for the problem, I have no idea if it's exterior or interior. I am about 75% sure it's exterior though. It would definately not be worth the time if it was interior. Lemme know if you figure it out before I do...cuz I would sure love to have some reverse lights.

You're just sensitive. People who know me know that I'm not a dick unless I have a good reason to be. In this case, I've got a reason.
And Ian...you're still the meanest guy on the forum. And I'm trying to get rolling on your bushings.

Well I hope that we can just move on about this.

You have an external reverse switch on your transmission. If you want to pm me your VIN, I'll give you a part # that you can take to Nissan to order. There are also several places on the net that you can order from, CourtesyParts.com, another one in AZ (Ian knows it, I'm having a brain fart right now), and so on.
And when it comes down to it, I'm the biggest POS on this forum! Quit trying to take my spot!
Fuckers.

How much would something like that cost Allen?

Well Alex, you need part # 32005-21U10, which can be had around $26 or so.
Courtesy Parts has them listed --->HERE (http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CP&Product_Code=32005-21U10)<---

How hard is it to install/replace?

wow, thats the same switch used in my tranny for my 89 300zx.
I love Nissan and how uniform they are.

Its not hard at all, I think its just a 17mm open-end wrench is all you need. Should be cake.
I am going to order that ASAP and let you all know.
