Just wondering if anyone had a quick fix? Ive got a 98 pathy at my shop, and it wont start or run. Its a automatic with 3.3 ltr. It has the symtoms of a fuel pump. We put a delphi fuel pump witch is supposed to be as good as factory. Still no start. Has spark, fuel but no fire. Has to be computer right? Hook up to the OBD and has no codes history or pending. That has us stumped. What started to scare us after we put the fuel pump in to get no where, we saw mouse shit in top of the intake. But what was wierd it sat over last night in the lot and started right up this morning. Then died out once it started to warm up. Just like a fuel pump. We also put a new fuel filter, and fuel pump relay. Once we put the relay in it, it did start once but would not start after that. Any ideas?

Unplug the mass air flow sensor and see if it will start then. If it does, then it'll be in failsafe. If it does start, then the MAF is the issue. You might have to pull the plugs and either clean them out or replace them.

I left a little early today, if my techs have not tried that I will tommorrow. Checked plugs and they look good. We will see what happens..:D

Strange. Fuel (at least up to the rails) and spark, but no fire. Can you hear the injectors clicking? (The $1.99 stethoscope I got at harbor freight is one of my favorite tools.) I wonder if the cam or crankshaft sensors are bad and the ecu isn't firing the injectors because it doesn't think the engine is turning?

we did the mass air flow sensor trick and it starts and runs w\o it plugged in. Hook it up and runs good, we will see in an an hour or so, see if that did it, thanks
