Depends on how old the rear is. I mean obviously you will have to upgrade gears with it...so maybe a whole new one? As for anything else..I have no clue except for you to start saving up more money if the funds are riding low.

I'm going SUA for several reasons. I still would like it to fit in a garage(not sure if I can do that), it's less expensive right now, I can upgrade later, high steer not as important, less axle wrap, no cut and turn (yet), and some others I can't think of now.
This guy has revolver shackles front and rear (I wouldn't do it on a DD). That might fix the flex in the front.http://www.cardomain.com/ride/333346

I have just heard That they have bad road manners, and the possibility of unloading off camber increasing the chance of rollover.
edit...
Also revolvers give more flex but it is not "usable" flex. At the point that the revolvers kick in there is no real pressure keeping the wheel on the ground. I could be wrong but thats AFAIK.

"Never ever put revolvers in the front of a truck." That's what Allphase told me during my initial consultation. They do work on the rear springs but I think some people on this forum have had trouble with them. I would recommend building the truck to flex well with normal shackles then maybe consider revolvers in the rear at a later date. I'm not soo much a fan with SUA on a nissan offroad truck. With the relatively flat springs I have in front now I can almost touch my frame with my tie rod. If it where sprung over the springs would need to be taller more curved and I'd still be at the same height. SUA is great for stock vehicles but when it comes to achieving a good amount of flex flat springs are much desired. Look at other rigs in the area and decide how much you want to stuff or extend the tire. I can still go 75 MPH on the highway with a super flexy SOA.

i am SOA in the front, and it's freakin tall. so tall i had to long arm the rear in order for it to be able to get as tall as the front. there is a lot of extra work involved in SOA, some of which you mentioned ie C&T for caster. I turned mine 14* and cut out the cross member that it would have hit. but my junk rides like a caddy, 5.5* caster it turns great and no death wobble, I've had it close to 75 but my trans screams when i do that so i don't do it very often.

I think SUA for a DD isn't a bad choice at all. Unless a huge tire is wanted (35"), you can still clear a decent tire, fit it where ever you feel like and keep the road manners good for a DD.

Reagearing the rear end would be OK. I would think in the end it would be cheaper for the rear end that you have vs. making another D44 fit ($ to $) with all the brackets, brake lines, parking brake cables, etc. you'd have to buy to make it work.

I'm spring under with 33's. I'm working to fit 35's under there but that will require further body trimming to help clear them. I'm running the Calmini setup and a 3" body lift. I'm running the drag link over the pitman arm instead of under so I'm getting more bumpsteer than those who run it under the pitman arm. Also, I'm running the Calmini "lift kit". I've dented the crap out of my oil pan and swapped to 300zx pan to prevent putting a hole in the pan and increase oil capacity a little.

Well, your carrier is already installed. If you were to go spring over there would be a good chance the seals would take a hit while welding on the perches. You would also need to rotate the knuckles 12 degrees. So, basically it would have to go back to Allen for new seals (total rebuild). While it is apart get the knuckles rotated and perches welded on. Then you will also need a flat top knuckle and arm for the passenger side. This would need to be drilled and milled for the arm. Next you would have to contend with the rear end being lower, whichever direction that would be. Sounding like a lot of work yet???

All this to find out that your rig is sky hi... thus a need to remove the body lift.

Trust me it sounds like a ton of work! It is the best way to build with leafs if you plan on wheeling this rig a lot. IMO the spring under is easier and cheaper with a ton of excuses why it is almost as good.

However when the day is done we all have fun on the trail non the matter.
