Ever since I played in the mud puddle @ slaughterhouse, when I turn my AC on my fan makes my whole truck shake. I am thinking I just need to wash all the mud off the belts, but is there anything I should watch out for. I have heard a lot of conflicting stories. Anyone rinsed down their engine without a problem?

All the time. I use a residential (Pronounced "cheap") pressure washer. I adjust it to a fan spray and avoid connectors and oil seals.
Wet it down, spray it with Castrol Super Clean, wait a minute, then blast it clean.

Im not too familiar with the new xterras but is there an aux fan like on the older ones? You could have possibly broken some of the blades off. I did this on my efan on my pathfinder after going through a puddle and it made the whole vehicle shake too.

I wash out my engine bay after most every wheeling trip (because I'm not sure I've ever seen a muddle puddle that I could make myself drive around rather than through).

I just use a regular hose with my thumb over the end (so that I get good volume, sprayer ends choke the flow off to a couple gallons a minute). After getting big chunks of mud out, I spray everything with Simple Green diluted 20:1 or so, let that soak for 5 minutes, then spray it out again. Works great.
