Hey, any chance one of you guys can bring an SWR meter to the meet and greet around 6PM so we have time to tune my whip before it kicks off? I'm gonna grab a firestik today from that radio shop so I don't have to put up with this garbage cobra 2' magnet mount anymore.

i need to tune the SWR on my firestik also, so if someone brought a meter that would be awesome. If one of you gave me a call i could just hop on the convoy as it heads through junction.

Yeah that works. I may be in with the Caravan coming from Denver also depending on how fast everyone drives. I am gonna take my sweet time goin out so I expect them to catch up if they go at a reasonable speed.
I can take the BB4W stuff. The back of the Truck is gonna have a few boxes from other sponsors in it and we are just gonna put it all in the Condo.
For anyone that want to tune their CB I would recommend coming by the Condo EARLY before the Meet N Greet. Instead of working on it in the parking lot.

If theres not any wind... Yep. But the truck gets about 12-14 mpg... and Vail pass is gonna suck it out.
And I figure Eagle is about the time everyone will catch up. I can stop and have an early lunch :)

Nope, I was trying to get the X ready before Gone, but fabing companies take longer than I expected.
I still don’t have armor or lockers.
Just ordered full skid row armor + shrock front bump + AC sliders.
I am taking taken the X out this weekend to Gypsum to see what needs to be trimmed and fix my turn stops.
I will be partaking in Gone next year!
Have fun and may your spotters lead to an oasis of bountiful topless women.:D

ita 250 miles from the middle of Denver to junction. that might be pushing it depending on what your driving.
the sinclair by the 24 road exit is the cheapest in town. i think i saw 2.65ish there

I've always made GJ my first fuel stop on the way to moab, but that was before the last round of mods and mileage-loss. I dunno if I'd make it that far anymore.

I don't know if I can make it now or not. Now with the gears, but bigger tires, the engine thinks it's back on 31" tires. But it's still like pushing a brick through the air.
I don't necessarily want to racing up the passes anyway. Not with fuel prices the way they are now. I'd rather take it nice, block a lane and save on the fuel! Grandpa style, but not as old, and a helluva better looking!

An easy way to save a bit of gas on the way up is to take clear creek canyon instead of I-70. I-70 is fast, but it's all up-and-down-and-up-and-down to get to Idaho Springs. Clear creek canyon is 40mph speed limit, but it's a nice gentle climb the whole way. If I go up I-70 to hit trails near empire I get to the trailhead with 3/4 tank. If I go up clear creek canyon it takes 10 minutes longer but the needle hardly drops off full.
