I still have so much to do. The welds will be cooling as I drive, this I have no doubt.

Hey that pink was not paint... it was a sticker. Jordan hit Eriks rear bumper tying to parallel park downtown then took off... so Erik found a sticker shop and slapped a bright pink princess sticker on his truck when he wasnt looking. :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:
Oh and he did not hurt Eriks Truck he tapped the spare tire Carrier on the back.

AZ Run, back when DR's truck was still IFS. Maybe actually it was when they first lifted DL's X? Either way it's been a long time.

Midnight, what did you use to extend your rear diff. breather?

Midnight, what did you use to extend your rear diff. breather?
I'm guessing you have a 2nd gen so I'll spill it as simply as possible so as not to deviate from the topic too much.
=Remove you passenger side taillight. 2 screws and 2 clips that pop with a some moderate pulling force.
=Remove the rear diff breather
=pop off the cap covering the breather that looks like a bell housing.
=screw in or plum in air/water silicone tubing from petsmart/petco
=seal the connection with your choice of glue/sealant (I used Gorilla Glue)
=screw breather back into place making sure not to get dirt and shit in the hole
=snake airline up to frame and through gap left by taillight, leaving slack to allow for suspension travel.
=snap tubing into preexisting clips on back of taillight that is holding the wiring
=fit 1" airstone for fish tanks onto end of tubing making sure the seal is water and air tight so air can only get through airstone.
=put taillight back on.
Relatively painless mod and only will cost you around $4-5 to do. Very worth while IMO.

Extending a 1st-gen rear breather is dead simple: go to the hardware or auto parts store and get 24 inches of 3/16 ID tubing (either fuel line or windshield washer/vacuum line will work). Replace the original line with the longer one. If you get ww/vacuum line the original nissan spring clips might be too big to hold tight and you'll need a couple very small hose clamps.

Well then idk if what i did will work with his year group. We 2nd gen people get shafted up the rear when it comes to drivetrain mods.
ChefTyler
05-10-2008, 10:18 AM
Give it time, the VG motor has been around a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time as has the T-case and rear axle (with differing spline counts) on the first gen Xterra so companies have hada LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time to figure out drivetrain improvements, just be patient.
