So I ordered HD Steering from Calmini. I know its not the best but its better then stock. Not only that but my centerlink is wearing out yet again and I can warranty it out through Napa and help out another Ronin member. But just looking foward to putting new parts in the X. Any feed back on this kit. Im pretty happy with everything else Calmini has to offer. Not only that but I spent 390$ shipped and have it hopefully in 2 weeks.

hey do you have to call calmini to order anything? I dont see any kid of way to buy directly from the site.

Also from what ive heard about any steering system, apperabtly its recommended you oil the Pitman arm for a week before you try to remove it.

Yeah you gotta call to order the stuff. It's alot more rewarding doing it that way because then you can get a name to blame if your shit doesn't come in on time or something goes wrong.

It doesn't hurt to shoot some Blaster on the pitman arm for a few days before you do the work, but if you use a pitman arm puller it'll come off pretty easily even if you didn't do that. You can borrow a puller from any Autozone for just a refundable security deposit. They'll ask if you want the big or small one, the big one is right for our rigs.

lucky for me, but I work at big o and I have all the air tools, a lift and shop keys. I was planning on shooting some PB blaster a coulpe days prior. But I spoke to Jake who is usually pretty legit on time. Of course there slow on shipping 5-10 days before it ships. But at least Im not waiting on powter coating.

Heh. I'm tempted to bet you a paycheck or two it doesn't actually ship in anything like as soon as 10 days. I think that would be a safe bet even if GONE wasn't gonna interfere with their work schedules. They told me my lift kit would be shipping the next day -- they told me that for a couple weeks. Then they just got abusive with me to get me to stop calling. (That worked -- I've never called them again since; all my subsequent calls were to SLR.)

Air tools are nice, but you still need a pitman arm puller.

Ian, you should help me get this steering stabilizer on. I forgot all the parts to go over to Jamie's a couple weeks ago...then I dug everything out of all the boxes I had that came with the package.

putting on a steering stabilizer is pretty idiot proof, just follow the directions and its like 6 bolts total

more than yours most likely. if mine weren't all spent before i got them, i'd get in on that bet too. i think i have heard of calmini sending something on time maybe once, ever, including my SAS kit.

Ian's checks are rather large :D

Also, GONE isn't going to interfere with Calmini at all this year, as they won't be coming to Moab...some sort of scheduling issue. I bought two things from Calmini, the first was a set of shackles, they shipped on time. The second thing I bought was a diff skid from a gift certificate I won in Moab a couple years ago...that took 6 MONTHS to ship...they quoted me 5-10 days "just waiting for a batch to get back from the zinc coater" was the line I got every time I called to find out where my shit was.

I wouldn't mind at all if when I ordered from Calmini they said "it's going to be 5-6 weeks before we can put this whole order together". It's the constant BS every time you call.

Hmm, if Calmini isn't gonna be at GONE, then maybe my bet should be just one paycheck. (The real bet here is that nobody wants to cover a bet of that size. ;) )

Yeh about that, its all fun and games untill some one goes broke because of Calmini. But it still would be nice to have your sh#t on time. Ill try not to hassel them because the more I hassel the more time it will take. But I did get them to throw in a t-shirt and stickers.
