My brothers dog peed all over my back seat and I can't get the smell out.

Has anyone ever heard of someone replacing the rear bench seat of a crew cab with some bucket seats? My plan is to use these,

and make some quick release pins so if no one is riding in the back I can put a basket/rack for storage.

The dimensions for the seats are.
Part Number: RCI-8020S
Seat Style: Lowback
Seat Material: Polyethylene
Seat Finish: Black
Depth (in): 27.000 in.
Height (in): 25.500 in.
Width (in): 20.500 in.

Opinions, criticizms, other ideas?

I would just question the strength of "quick release pins" if you ever got in a crash with passengers. Thats alot of stress. however I like the idea

I thought about that. In an accident/rollover what is actually holding you in is the seatbelts. The seats help you from moving sideways but the seatbelts take the brunt of the force (I could be wrong, but it makes sense in my head). The quick release system would probably be a set of four 1/4 to 1/2 in cotter pins.

I saw something in a ricer-ish mag back when I had my GTI, where some guy had removed the 60/40 folding back seat and replaced it with two 5-point style racing seats to match his front seats. Looked good IMHO.

I think if you go with the quick release idea you should consider using 5/8 receiver hitch pins. They're easy to get and should be plenty strong enough.

I was considering something like that for my pathy. They sell some nice front seats cheap on ebay. I was thinking of something for the rear to match. My rear seats fold down nice flat, so that is hard to beat.

Try "natures miracle" stain odor removal. It soaks into the stain and should work. I have used on dog and cat pee before.

I can tell you right now that putting in aftermarket seats is not nearly as easy as one might think. Plus, is that going to work given the allotted room?

I took out the seat and measured for fit.

What I don't understand is how is the seat pictured above 27in deep? It might be an optical illusion but it looks much shallower.

If this doesn't work I might just go with a storage rack in the back. In the 4+ years I've owned the truck I've only had passengers in the back seat a few times, and never while off-roading.

I know it was cramped back there anyway, and only my nephews could fit back there comfortably.

It might cut down on my gas bill too. No one will ask to ride with me ever again:bannana:
