Oregon guy signing in here. It seems like every rig I followed at GONE Moab in '07 and '08 had a RONIN sticker on it, so I figured I'd check the site out. You guys have got some nice rigs here.
The upcoming RONIN event in August looks like fun. Wish I could make it...

Welcome dude.
So is there wheeling in Oregon? I was really close to taking a road trip there 1-4 of August, but backed out due to gas prices and other commitments... My gf wanted to do faerieworlds, and I wasn't sure if I could entertain myself in the mean time for 3 days...
Welcome on board!

Oh man, you should have come out. About 45 minutes away from where Faerieworlds (sad that I know where this is held) is Florence, Oregon, home of the state's biggest sand dunes park. It's probably around 150 acres, and there are several trails that lead right to the beach. Last year 4WD & Sport Utility Mag sponsored a company run to Oregon, and that's one of the places they hit. Good times...

Still one of my favorite shots from the week.
Tyler... I don't know if you lurk over at thenewx.org, but if you don't you probably missed these, also from the 7-Mile Rim run.

Sh..t.... I was even going to stay in Florence for the fest. Closer to the beach.
Oh well. I estimated it would cost me close to $1500 with hotel, gas and other expenses. Since my gf is unemployed and was not contributing much, it would be all my expense. Fook that! I'll go to Sand dunes of CO, and take a bunch of wheeling trips locally instead. Somehow the whole faire stuff does not grab me
Though I miss ocean... And wheeling by the ocean - would be a blast! Maybe I'll come out next year. We'll see.

It is quite the place. I kicked around the idea of trying to organize a 1-2 day Nissan event there. But, nobody over at thenewx really sounded interested. Gas prices these days certainly aren't going to sway anyone.
If you ever do make it out, you can cruise about 1.5-2 hours up near Astoria (home of the Goonies, b!t@hes!) and hit Tillamook State Forest, probably our most well known wheeling area. One of the trails at TSF, the "Crushers", made BFG's Outstanding Trails list here recently. The Crushers is a little too hardcore for me, but they've got a bunch of sweet trails up there.
Here's a couple of pics from Florence that were taken early last year when I went there with some friends...

I did miss those pics! I wouldn't call your X a POS either, it held it's own very nicely in Moab. Can't wait to wheel with ya again!

That looks sweet. Now I feel bad for not going... (story of my life).
Well, maybe I'll at least make it to Sand Dunes this year...
