Just wanted some advice on correct wiring of auxilary lights. Do they always have to have power from the battary or can i run power from extra spots on the fuse box with an add-a-circut connection.

i would use a power distribution block from the battery, then from there to a relay, and switch the relay with a toggle switch on the dash or wherever. using the power block allows you to add an amp, more lights, etc without cluttering up your + terminal on your battery. one big wire from the battery to the dist block, then fuses, and then split the power to relays from there.

You can get away with just a heavy-duty switch for a pair of 55 watt lights, but I reccommend what Packman suggested. That allows for upgrade to 100W lamps.
Use 10 or 12 gauge wire and keep the circuit short. The circuit that switches the relay can be lighter, longer wire because it has such a low draw.
