Evening all.

Quick introduction.
I'm Adam. I'm currently living in Chatham, Ontario, Canada. In the process of looking to buy another Pathfinder. my 3rd. Bought a 91 years ago, did the Crapini 3+3 with 33's and dealt with the crappy steering issues. Drove it to Alberta where it had to undergo an out of province safety, which led me to buy the Second pathfinder :D

I kept the original around as a trail queen until stuff started breaking on the lemon I bought to replace it. Second one i bought sucked and i left it stock. Moved back to Ontario in August after 3 years in Northern Alberta. Ditched both pathies and now I'm on the hunt for number 3.

THIS time..... I'm doing it right. Looking for a 95 from the states that has no rust since every Pathfinder in Canada is plagued. Screw the IFS, waste of money, I want to SAS the pig. I've been reading all I can on numerous boards about all the different styles of SAS and I obviously got a lot of inspiration from a ton of you members. Although I've been reading a lot on things, I Obviously have a lot of questions to ask still and I hope you guys will be able to give me some of your great insight.

Great sight and glad to be a member.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Night in Armor

I just moved here a month ago... took Possession of the house on Aug, 29th so I'm happy right now... Northern Alberta was hell in my opinion so anything is better and I'm not complaining. :D

I'll be searching for a while for a Black Pathy with a Good frame that's in decent shape. If any of you come across one perhaps you can swing a linnk this way incase I havent noticed it. I really don't care how far it is. I'll make the trip for a decent one.

Hell, if we find one in Colorado, we'll let you know. If you want, we could probably swing an SAS party before you even show up to drive it back.

Just a thought. :D

I may know of a red one that could be on the market before long.

Allen.....
I know we've just met....

But I think I've just suddenly turned homosexual cause I'm in love with you now.:puke:

:whack:

Ok.... it's passed....

But in all seriousness...

I've been looking at all of your rigs for a while. Looking at all the different set ups and I have to say... Nissanut, your Write ups for the 3 link, and everything else for that matter, are amazing. I've been reading up on Yoszi's build and its coming alone real nice too... checked out Steeevo's Toyota Coilover set up for a while, that's pretty slick. I'm not too fond of any leaf setups so I don't even bother and when I originally saw hoohaa's radial set up I was liking it, then I noticed Datz's, and I liked it.... Frankenfinders, and a few others and I liked those too, then I saw Ryans and I :poospray: myself. I've never seen more flex in my entire life on a Pathy that still looked like a Pathy... And still such a Low center of Gravity even with the 35's.... that's what I'm liking. I think I read some place too that it didnt even Drive like crap on the highway too which is pretty sweet.

My question is this, from what I've been able to find in the forums here and there, I've not been able to find any mention of any modifications to the Oil pan like datz and hoohaa. Did you get away without having to do that?

And regardless if I find one in Colorado or not.... I may want to take a trip there and drop it off anyway haha. You guys seem to be the Guru's of the set up and It would easily take me 6+ months probably since I have no Welder/plasma. And besides that, I have virtually no skills with a welder anyway since I've only used one twice in my life. (really need to buy one to play with) And on top of that I have a 1 year old Girl :baby: and another due in March. :baby: I'm currently the stay at home parent too since we moved here for my Wife's work not mine. SOoooooo Times a little tight to be spending in the garage.

I told the wife though, My next vehicle I'm buying a 10,000 vehicle. I don't care if its a 10,000 dollar car that I do nothing to, or a 100 dollar Wreck that I blow 9900 bucks on aftermarket on. So basically I'd like to get the SAS done first and but all the bolt on crap, and endless smaller projects later.

Regardless of what gets done, how it gets done or how long it takes to get done, you guys set the bar pretty damn high.... Nice work to all of you.

*edit* Kevin, Thanks man... This time around though I have some time to wait so I'm gonna get what I want and its gotta be a 95 in Black, and no frame/body rust. I realy dont care if its autotragic or a manual but of course manual would be nice...

007, you're in Greeley now? You coming up to the car show today? It's free to walk in, $20 to show your rig. Your rig is sweet, love to see it there!

And Dowser, no offense, but I'll keep my back to the wall for a bit! :D

Getting what you want just makes the whole project that much sweeter. Then you can look out in your driveway and see your dream vehicle, no matter what it is. Hold out for the 95 Black Beauty that you want. Ryan and I can build yours to match the older version of his, no problem. He's got it all stuck in his head.

Ya, I see the old pics of the rig and think of the good times we had together. I built it with a welder and a sawsall (about 300 blades later)... took me a day to get done what takes me an hour now.

That would be great man for sure! I'd really appreciate it. If you don't mind maybe give it a once over and check it out. Not sure what you drive but pathy's have a few key things to look for.

-sagging rear
-rust around the rear door rocker, and front fenders.
-Frame rott at the high point in the rear above the tire,(seems the most prominant here anyway)
Basically maybe just see if you can see anything that the phots wont be able to pick up. Thanks man REALLY appreciate it.

Allen.

Ya man thats totally what I'm going for.. The vehicle I can be proud of vs the one I owned last haha

Also man, I just read the post about your family after you mentioned the car show today, MY GOD man... I know its a little late now but My deepest sympathies. That truely is a horrible thing. I for obvious reasons wont be able to attend but would like to contribute to the cause. pm me where or how i can send you a donation.

no oil pan mod needed if you run the waggy axle, the pumpkin is well off to the side. i believe the ford axle has the pumpkin closer to the center and it can interfere with the oil pan.
