That would kick some serious ass if the price is right, Ben. Though now that I think about it...it might be a little hard with both Abbye and I going...I'll figure something out though :D perhaps drive her car out there instead (kick arse gas milage and then she would have a car to tool around in on the day(s) she wants to get out of the truck :D

I'm going, minus MM. She won't go back to Moab with me if I'm 4 wheeling. Hell's Gate just scared her too much.

There for the whole week (and then some!).

Probably going. Need to keep my record of attending all of them.

Had to leave early once, but a record is still a record. I think Xtoolbox is the only other person.

Not sure where I'll stay. I like Canyonlands Campground because it is right in town. Maybe make a reservation there soon.

You going to bring Anthon-e with ya, Todd?

Steel_City_X

goneMOAB is being held the last week of 8th grade, so we are not sure.
He would miss a few activities, but we also won't be back at the school in the fall. They could ding him for missing a bunch of days this year, but then again, he doesn't have his sights on Ivy League schools.

So, is there a movement to NOT bring the obnoxious teenager with me? He'll be 15, so the bugger is going to want to drive more this year. Terror! in the mind of dad. Am I ready to have my life in the hands of my child?

Sure you are ready.. its either now or when he puts you in a home. May as well get used to the feeling. ;)

Laurie and I will be there through Wednesday (unless she bails on me). I promised her we wouldn't do hard core stuff the whole time so I signed up for Fins and Things, Hells Revenge, and Elephant Hill. I'm thinking Hell's Revenge is the only one she won't like. We've done Fins and Things 3 or 4 times. She hated poison spider and metal masher, so we'll see.

Ryan Gee

I think the cabins may be filling up. Ben just called up for a camper spot and it sounds like the pickings are getting thin. Which would be similar to last year. The cabins/campers were somewhat full and the tenting areas had some room to spare.

the gone site says 60 trucks this year. damn that's a lot of nissans.

60? That's all? I thought there were so many it was requiring special permits and stuff. Compared to something like the easter safari silliness, 60 trucks seems like a non-event. I mean, that's like 1 motel full of people in a town with dozens of hotels and motels.

Alpine Spirit

I think it will be more.... we make up almost 1/3 of it.

60 is plenty to have fun. Too many on any one trail really bogs down the whole group.

If you have not signed up from the gonemoab website please do so. I am going to be ordering t-shirts and hats soon. I also have to account for everyone for the permitting processes. Any time you have an event with over 50 persons a BLM permit is req. There is also a state permit that is needed. We will blow away the minimum number as some trucks have more than 1 person in it.

See you in Moab!

Doug

Considering this is only the 6th year for this event I think we are doing pretty darn good. Also think about how many Nissans are on trails vs Jeep and Toyota. It's growing by a few trucks every year.
Another thing to consider is Moab is somewhat remote for most folks. While you might have a larger turnout for an east coast event (most folks only have to drive a hand full of hours) there is only one Moab!

See you in Moab!

Doug
