Hell, anybody - Jenna or Rambo, as long as it's not the two ugly ones who have been on my TV more than Jenna lately :)

Let's see, someone who's too stupid to do anything except maybe reproduce?

I think that would be a whole lot like what we've got right now.

For one - people will be gathering in front of TV for each presidential address to the nation like it's a superbowl!

I think Jenna Jameson is older than McCain.

But she looks one hell of a lot better!

Socialism is bad. With looming economic peril, to increase handouts and dishonestly call it "tax relief" is an especially bad time to embrace socialism.

Work hard: millions of people sitting on the couch watching Montel are depending on you.

Wow, a blast from the cold-war-era past: a potshot at welfare moms sitting on the couch watching tv all day, except when they need to go pick up their government checks.

Unfortunately, in today's economy, the receipients of that government largesse are much more likely to be working 2 jobs, have 5 kids they can't afford, living in a 4500 square foot house they can't afford, which has a 3-car garage containing at least 2 gas-guzzling SUVs they can't afford. But at least they have a 60 inch flatscreen TV that they can't afford to help them forget all the problems in their lives caused by all the other stuff they can't afford.

So why should my hard earned money go to these people?

Exactly!!!

Yup.

I have no problem with people getting welfare/unemployment, etc. in a tough situation. IF they are working hard to get a job, etc. and just need a little help to get through - not sitting on their ass doing nothing. That is what it's for. The abusers are the one we need to target.

Ha ha! You do realize that this is the biggest bull$hit system out there, right? My family was on welfare at some period when my father, the main source of family income at a time, had a surgery on his knee (occupational injury). I was working at Wendy's, making $6 an hour and going to high school. My mom was trying to get a job at a time, so we got our appartment rent partially covered. Only for the period immediately after the surgery (and for 2 months or so) we got that help. Then we were cut off completely. Apparently as long as you make enough to starve yourself slowly, you don't need help from the big brother.
Now I know many people who work for cash, don't show any income, have 5+ kids and get full f****in ride from the government. They live one fu** of a lot better than we did. In fact I know a family who was living off of government checks while the guy was building his own house. Isn't that BS?? As great as the system seems to be, it's the biggest bullcrap out there. I am yet to meet an honest person who fully deserves that check. All the honest people get off their asses and get a job! That's what you're supposed to do! Get a friggin job and stop being a burden on the society!
Why am I supposed to be working 60 + hours a week, pay quarter of my income (no sh!t - I calculated) in taxes every month, live off of whatever is left, while some fat f**ktard gets to sit on his @$$ and watch TV all day?

Wait... this topic is about presidents... Well I don't believe any one will make a difference.

James:
She's not that attractive. But JJ's looks over Bu$h/McC@in/0bama anyday!

I had my vent for the day... I really needed it... Back to work now. Thank all who read through. Feel free to delete it if i'm violating any rules. Did not intend to hurt anybody's feelings. Nothing personal with anyone.

In Oregon you can't get welfare(food stamps and what not) if you are on unemployment. Once I got out of the Air Force and moved from Idaho back to Oregon I looked for a job for about a month before I even started the paper work for unemployment. Then got a job working for $10/hour got on food stamps to help with feeding the kids. Lost my job and unemployment had no money for about 2 months then got back on unemployment pay. Found another job making $13/hour welding boats got fired lost our food stamps and unemployment. Now I have been looking for a job since June still haven't found one. Raising two kids off of $1,300 a month and the state still won't help out. but anyways I don't keep up on the political stuff anymore. If I were registered to vote then I would probably vote for McCain.

Dude, you said that you got out of the military.....That means you could have the G.I. Bill right there! If you go to school full time, you can get about $1471 a month. That is what I am getting. You pay for your books, and then you can keep the rest. Then your pay tuition. All ya gotta do is sign up. Online classes are where it's at, and I know that you have internet:)

Online classes work for some, not for others. Some like the classroom settings. Online classes do work for those who have jobs though.

x 2 on the GI bill. Next year is a big change for the GI Bill (better) If you have it use it. If you like to weld go to a trade school and get certified. If you like to work on cars get ASE certified. You paid into it use it. That's what I'm using to get by right now.

Next year the GI Bill changes to a completely new setup. You get your tuition and books paid up front, and then you get BAH with dependents for an E-5 in your area (Alamosa is $796 a month, for Talimook it says $1012 a month, and CO springs is $1013). The only catch is you have to have served more than three years after 9-11. I know it may seem like not a lot of money but you could always have a side job to make up for it.

Sorry for the thread jack I just hate to see people wasting their benefits that they've paid for.

Wow, a blast from the cold-war-era past: a potshot at welfare moms sitting on the couch watching tv all day, except when they need to go pick up their government checks.

Potshots? Have you ever spent any significant time in the projects? BTW there isn't a place in CO that qualifies. You can't find one that isn't prewired with cable or bristling with sat dishs. You can't find a teenager that lives there that doesn't wear shoes that cost more than every item I wear. Here's the kicker: find a welfare recepient without a cell phone.

Personaly, the worst was walking through the projects to school in Louisville, KY and to be harrangued with pleas for "got somethin for a brotha" from 5 or 6able-bodied men every morning - while I didn't have enough time to sleep because I had my studies and 2 part time jobs. Garbage dumped from upper stories piled feet high surrounding the buildings because the occupant were too lazy to carry it to the FREE dumpster. Disgraceful. But it's not just multi generational welfare lifers. The system encourages lack of personnal responsibility to all.

Some 2007 data for you: (just big 3 not all inclusive)
Social security: $581.4 Billion
Medicare: $370.8
Medicaid: $291.2
Total $1.4 TFD (Trillion F***ing Dollars)

Michael Jordan said it best, "If you can ask me for money, you can say 'Welcome to McDonalds may I take your order?'"

The remainder of your commentary on personal excess is right on target.

(hi-jack) I am using my G.I. Bill it's what's keeping us afloat. It is acutally only like $1,100 if going full time. I get $1,396.00 a month because I am in the reserves and going full time to school. But I do online classes, and I am going to Colorado Technical University getting my A.S. in Criminal Justice. BUT in order to get that BAH at the rate of E-5 with dependants you need to be going to a acutal physical campus and taking classes fulltime to even qualify. The closest university is PSU (Portland State) which is about 1 1/2 hours away from tillamook. Man if I was able to get that for BAH then I could be in a 3 bedroom house not this shitty little 2 bedroom apartment. Anyways it's all good.

I would like to add that if you are not willing to spend the time and effort to dig deeper then the sound bytes and figure out who really deep down agrees with your values and ideas please don't vote.

This is not a popularity contest...voting because of a slogan, nice smile, or empty promise is worse then not voting at all.

Jarrod, Chaos, I am getting 1251, because I did the "top up" before I got out. I also am almost done with my full 8 years. That is awesome with the Changes for next year. I knew that they were gonna do something, but not sure what it was.

On another note, does anyone notice the sudden increase in registered black voters? I have!

Thats exactly why ive waited so long to make my decision. I see half the kids at my college yelling OBAMA! cause they think he is cool; but they cant name any of his stances on an todays issues. However, every issue out there is so "grey" if you know what i mean. Its hard to just pick a side when the real truth is somewhere in the middle. I believe alot more in McCains domestic policies. But honestly i dont know near enough about either cantidate.

HAHA i just watched alex's video and that college student is exactly what im talking about. Its points out alot of reasons i dont like obama

The political tests that I've taken end up saying that I'm a "centrist" which basically means I'm on the fence when it comes to the left and right. Some things I agree more with the dems and some things I agree more with the repubs. This makes it very hard for me to pick someone.

The problem is that you can't always dig as deep as you would like. You can find news articles....which are printed by biased media. News on TV....which is reported by biased media. I guess I am very cynical - I don't believe for a minute any of the media is honest about anything. Everyone has an agenda, and many times writers and reporters are putting bias into what they do without even realizing it.

It also makes it difficult that both parties have serious economic flaws. Dems attempts to tax and "redistribute wealth" can only grind the economy to a halt. However, Republicans have been printing more money to pay for wars and such.

Money is like any other commodity - more quantity means it is worth less. Is there any difference between taxing you 10%, or printing enough money that it is worth 10% less?

In the end I look for personal integrity. I often judge this by those people the candidate surrounds themselves with... there is some difference there.

you all do know there are more than two parties, right? if congress' approval rating is 10%, we all think both major parties are full of it, why is it that they still get elected, year after year? if two stores suck, you get crappy service and lied to and stolen from all the time, but there is a 3rd store, where you get good service and honest prices, but the owner is a little crazy, which store would you go to? i'm voting for the crazy guy. at least he isn't going to steal from me.
