Just registered. Not sure what day's i'll be out, I'll either be there on Tuesday, or have to leave Thursday night. What trails I run will depend on the truck I bring out, most likely, it will be the Frontier.

How bout the Pickle Trail as an option harder run on Wednesday. I really don't want to to the Spike again. I don't like that trail and I'll have to do 60mph across the crack. :)

I hear ya clay Moab rim is of no intrest to me. I think it's inevitable that some of us will disslike something on the agenda. It's totally possible someone feels the same way a about the spike. I am totally interested In Pritchett canyon so hopefully someone will run that with me instead of the rim.

Moab rim is Thursday, I'm looking for somethings other than the spike on Wednesday. Of course, I'll prolly be looking for something other that Flat Iron on Thursday.
Maybe the Pickle trail one day and Fins or Seven Mile the other. Ill be doing steel bender (have not done it in 2 years) on Monday and Hells on Tuesday so I'll miss out on Seven Mile (did not run last year) again this year.
Ben you better not puss out again this year.

You have to factor in the pussy factor for me. :)
Depends on the truck I bring out for the trails. Most likely the Fronty, but if the Transformer makes an appearance then I'll do some stuff to challenge it.

What is the Transformer?
And what trails would you guys recommend for my full-length, SUA SAS'd HB on 34s? It's locked rear and open front, pretty basic.
I won't be registering for a little bit yet, it's sounding like I won't be able to be down there for the full week, but will register once I know for sure. If I had to, would it be better to be there in the beginning or end of the week or ?
Well...Clay I'd be interested in other runs, but not familiar with any of them.
I'd probably be sticking to the blue ones as I've never done wheeling in Moab before. Not sure what all I would be able to make - and I don't want to slow things down - I know some trails are rather long.
I'm hoping that in addition to the 2" BL I will have the PML and 33" tires by then.
But whatever I end up doing it'll be fun!

I did Hells revenge, and Steel bender with just Calmini UCAs and some 30 in pro crap ATs. You might not get to do some of the optional obstacals, but they are fun trails.
You should do Hells revenge. It is THE TRAIL in Moab.

I did Fins N Things and Seven Mile Rim with a PML and 2" BL and 33" BFG AT's with no issues.

I've done quite a few trails in Moab with a 2"BL, PML, and 33s. I didn't have any issues when running with people who know how to spot something with a wheel base.
Oh, the ARB in the back helped out too :)

Can't wait for May...I was out there this past weekend and had a blast. Camped at Mineral Bottom Fri night, ran 7 mile rim and wipeout hill on Sat. Lunch at the brewery followed by camping at Balcony Arch on Sat night. Ran Klondike Bluffs and Baby Steps on Sun before coming home.

I plan on doing Elephant Hill on Wednesday if anyone wants to join me. I have no desire to do Golden Spike.
That should be doable in my rig. I might be down for that because I doubt I'd make it through Golden Spike too easily.
Have to see - I may just use that as a day to explore the area and do some photography.

You kids have fun. For now I wont be able to make this one, with my Mom falling out of remission, I just dont think I can make it.
I have done gone 3 times and for those first timers out there considering this trip, do it. Its never the same. Different people (all SUPER nice and knowledgable), of course you got the same faces and it is always great to catch up.
And as always be safe and have fun.

I'd be interested in that Eric, the spike would probably do exactly that to the nismo. Plus we took an off day for elephant two years ago...

alright, I've got a question for those who've rented condos in the past. I know it explicitly says in the rental agreement that if you over occupy the condo, they'll charge $150 per night per person. How strict are they with this? The reason I ask is...we have 8 people already. One of the guys still doesn't know if his gf is going to come out or not (from Massachusetts). If she does come out, that will make 9. Now, he said if she does come, he doesn't have a problem staying somewhere else. But, can we get away with having 9 people in an 8 person condo?

I stayed at slickrock in 07 and the foul run down bathrooms still linger in my memory. How many people are reserving spots at slickrock? Has anyone here ever tried the Oasis it looks cleaner from the road?

The oasis is cleaner, but if you are tenting it, bring some ear plugs.
The canyon pipes all the noise from the highway to the campground.

Don't know about Oasis, but I stayed at Canyonlands (by the Texaco) last year and it wasn't bad at all.
