i'm gettin around to installin the AC shackles in the rear for my pml. the top of the shackle when in fine...but the lower half is given me problems...it seems that the leaf has a pressed in busing with inner sleave. the bolt that they supplies is too big for that bushing, and there's no way to get that bushing out and use the sleave they provided...anyone else installed these? is there something i'm doin wrong?

I don't know about yours but my springs had a sleeve that needed to be removed since the bolts came with new ones.

Well I am assuming your sleeve and bushings are stuck..... may need to apply some pressure. Maybe get new bushings too.

ya, should be a metal sleeve inside the bushing that has to come out. if you can't get the sleeve out, you may have to burn the bushing out and replace it.

so that inner sleave isn't bonded with the rest of the bushing? i gripped that sleeve with a pair of vice grips (it sticks out ~1/4")...and it has a layer of rubber around the edge like it was installed as one piece pressed in....i will try to seperate it...if i have to burn it out where can i get new bushings?

The best bet is from Nissan... they are fairly cheap. I bet rust and road grime has gotten in there and made it stick because it is actually a total of 3 pieces... 2 half bushings and one metal sleeve.

i talked to the tech from AC....he said he had heard of it once before...but for some reason nissan switched from the 2 piece bushing with sleeve...to a pressed in bushing in the leaf...but still have the 2 piece/sleeve combo on the frame. the bushing in the leaf is barely too small..basically the difference between 12mm and 1/2"...so i'm gonna ream it with a 1/2" bit so the hardware they provided will fit. thanks all
