i have a "1988 nissan desert runner", but sadly, the guy i bought it from sold off most of the "special parts" such as the rollbars spare tire, and rear net. i havent been able to locate anyone, or anywere that might have them... and is willing to sell them...

You can pull the parts of a Chevy S10 Baja...there are more of those around. The Desert Runner was made in 1988 though I knew someone that swore his was a 1989. The Chevy Baja was made from 1988 to 1991.

The bars and bumpers were the same on both trucks. The main difference being that the Nissan light bar warning sticker said Nissan the Chevy's ran the same sticker without any name on it.

The Nissan had a set of nerf bars that the Chevy didn't. They can be pulled of the same era pathy or truck. The Nissan net was dope but you most likely won't find one. The tire carriers would break so finding one intact will be fairly hard. As far as the cooler mount goes that will be harder than the tire carrier to find.

Hope this helps. I should probably write a sticky about these trucks.

ive been seeing the trucks on ebay and craigs list but sadly although they want to sell the truck no one wants to part them out...
realy im just looking for the roll bars, front, and back tube bumpers, and gril lights.

Nobody will want to part them out. That's why you should expand your search for Chevy Baja's, more of the same parts...plus it's a Chevy S10 so chances are it is no longer running and in a junkyard or for sale for nothing. Take the bars and ditch the S10.

i started looking around, and i found the light bar, skid plates, and fog lights off of a 1989 s10 chevy baja for about $200, and i need to be sure if it will work or not.
P.S. thanks for the help :)

Cool, they are the same bars and Bosch lights.

The bumper uses different mounting pieces but it is the same bar. I wouldn't imagine that the skid would work though...

No worries. Post photos of your progress.

There is a data base with the paint specs in it. It has the masking and pinstripe schematics as well. If I find anything I will let you know.
