Or know a guide somewhere? I can't find anything! I wish they would just put +/- on the damned cables.

Well that didn't help....multimeter shows 5.72V on both wires?? That can't be right.

It is right, Speakers are AC. The solid color is negative, and the striped wire is positive.

On the factory plastic plugs (going to re-use them) they mark a dot on the negative side then if that's the case.

I got green and orange solid colors in back, so those are negative? Odd because the striped one is black on both sides.

Green / Black w/ Yellow stripe on left

Orange / Black w/ Pink stripe (DAMNIT! lol) on right

Yep, striped wires are the negative side of the speaker wires. Only use that information for the speaker wires, it's the only place that it's always true for Nissan wiring.

I don't think it will hurt the speakers if they are backwards just to test - I guess there is only two ways to do it.

It sorta makes sense because ground wires are usually striped and positive are solid - just color coded for use at the head unit.

Thanks guys.

Well the rear is bumpin now!

Gonna get lunch and do the front. Gotta take apart the A Pillar trim. Fun.

Well managed to get everything done today except the tweeters mounted, and I gotta run now. I decided to mount them in the doors instead of the A Pillars. So I gotta cut holes. Dremel time tomorrow.

Andrew....don't mess with the doors dude! Use the tweeter spots that are already there!

Why do you say that? The wiring will be so much simpler.

Possibly because the wiring is already in the a-pillar? How does it make it simpler to run wires into the door, cut a hole, match the hole on the other door, fill the holes in the a-pillar, etc...?

Yeah there is wiring there already but I'm not even sure that the tweeters I have will fit in the A Pillar - they look like they might protrude a bit too much. And the ones I got the tweeters actually plug into the main speaker with a cable that has the crossver stuff built in.

I don't have to run wires to the door - these only need the stock wires - if I mounted the tweeters in the A Pillar I would have to run wires from the door to there.

Also no need to fill holes in the A Pillar - I'll just leave the old tweeter grilles snapped in there - not going to hurt anything.

HOLY CRAP!

There's a tweeter-sized hole in my door!

They fit - a little tight but they are about the only place they can go. It'll work.
