ok quick question i have been meaning to ask. i have seen a couple people on here mount there lights to the fenders near the windshield and i think it looks awesome as well as keeping them up high which im looking to do, but not go on the roof with them. like Barrys truck:

my question is how bad is the glare off the hood when the lights are on? bear in mind i have very shiny candy paint(not by choice) and i didnt want to mount lights there to find out the glare off the hood is so bad i cant use the lights. anyone have any issues with mounting them there?

Thanks guys

Paint the hood, or a strip thereof, with flat black paint or rhino liner.

I had considered it too and have since opted against it, but I think the lights I have would be good for it.

I'm running a set of Hella 4000 Fog lights (the big ones) up front on the bumper. They have a very flat and wide pattern and, as such, they are great for off roading. Only thing, they only come with 55w bulbs. Hella does make a 100w bulb for these, however. I took the lights apart, rewired them with 12 ga. wire instead of the super dinky wire they come with, swapped in the bigger bulbs and am now very happy with them. I've had them on for long, extended periods at night and got out to check and see if they get too hot and they never do.

Only thing is that the lights are large; might be too big for this, that's why I decided against it. but the lights' super flat pattern makes me think they'd be good there along with some flat black paint on the hood like Tyler said. All the old time desert racers out here used to do that trick to cut down on glare.
