i'm redoin the exhaust on my xterra, cuttin off the old muffler (huge thing hangs too low) and runnin 2.5 mandrel bent pipe out theback. i already purcahsed and installed the muffler (magnaflow 2.5")...reworked the pipe over the crossmember so it sits in a good location, ready for the pipe out the rear. quesiton is i'm not too terribly fond of the stock exit location, esp with the dirty tip showin, but also not big on chrome. i was thinkin of painting it black but in that location it catches too much from the road to stay lookin good. i was thinkin if fabbing something up that came straight out the rear through the bumper on the driver side (metal portion)...cut a hole and pull the pipe through..have some sort of ring around hole to clean it up a bit..like a school bus!!..you guys have any other pics of dif exhaust setups that work well and look good?
thanks

There was a guy on CO4x4 who made a few of those rings to sell for where the exhaust comes through the bumper but I can't find the thread!

i got a response and a link...it's a very nice piece..overall diameter is 5.25"...too bad there isn't a flat surface large enough on the rear bumper....out the side plastic would be nice...but i would worry about that plastic shaking and makin noise....also i don't want the plastic gettin too hot...anyone think this will be a problem? the insde diameter is 3.25" so i could have a big enough hole that the 2.5" pipe would have prob atleast 1'2" all the way around the pipe.
