I'd never seen the RC model of that one. Looks identical.
Does the same guy that owns the real one (Dan Dibble from Pirate) own the RC too?

There will be a 1/10th scale RC of Ryan's HB when I get around to making a frame for it :D

I want one! I've always loved RC cars but never get around to buying one, always have other things to pay for. I want a little rock crawler one like that.

That's where I hang out and glean info from :D
there will not be a 1/10th scale HB in Moab this year, too much other crap to do...might get my E-maxx running again before I go.

Do those things have low gears, or perhaps a low speed t-case? I would think it would be hard to control the throttle with a higher geared unit.
Also, do guys put bricks in them or something to get the suspensions to work for crawling?

There are different motors that people use that provide torque vs speed that work very well for crawling applications. There are 2 and 3 speed trannys as well as gear reduction units to give the drivers more flexibility (speed and crawl). Depending on what the rigs are made from, they can get quite heavy for their size. Most leaf springs are made from lawnmower starter recoil springs and flex decently enough for leaf springs. As for the coils and coilovers, they have appropriate (and varied) spring rates for RC applications.
Barry, you gotta bring your crawler to Moab so I can check it out in person :D

I have a 4:1 crawler box in the D21. Plus a high torque low rpm motor. Its awesome!
Mine is mostly 1/8 steel.
Here is a build up of the D21.

Here is the Titan KC.

The D21 has massive flex steer. The Titan has none. I got the 4 link to work.
