Hey so i was just wondering if there was anyone in the Fort Collins area who has a pin spanner socket that will fit the lock washer in the front hub of my 98 fronty?
willing to trade some small cash or beer
I Went to 3 auto parts stores today and they all said that the ones they carry wont fit so its either this or call the snap on truck and see if he will come bye.
Thanks

are you talking about the bearing lock nut? needle nose pliers work, or a modified chevy socket works too from what i'm told. i always just used needle nose pliers.

i guess it would be the bearing lock nut, there is a metal plate that had screws in it, it also has a center silver piece. the Haynes manual says to remove the screws than turn the lock washer with either an adjustable pin spanner or special socket, i bet i could get it off with needle nose pliers but i have to torque it when i reinstall the bearings hub and disk. and i want to make sure its torqued to spec when im done.
im guessing its somthing like this

i remember reading that it is not available to the public. you can either mod a chevy socket from napa or checker or you can use needle nose pliers. that's what i always did.
