On a jeep forum there is a thread with a mod to have a 2 low as well as 4 low. Story is 2 low allows for better turning. I don't think I'll get this but was wondering if anyone on here has heard of this or ever known someone with it.

Of coarse front diggs! It's a modification you can do with most gear driven t cases. I've done it to an np 205 in my garage but haven't put the t case on my Nissan yet. Bill potter has front diggs on his t-case.

Yes it's possible. I'm planning on doing it as well, help save my steering.

so are we talking twin stick? isn't there a difference between being able to do front digs, and actually having 2-lo?

Ok....lets get technical...do you think you can pull it off with a Nissan TX-10?
Considering the way the shift rail is set up....engages 4wd as you move it into 4h and keeps it locked in in both Neutral and 4L....I don't think it would be an easy mod.
And Clay...the rest of us will laugh every time you get out to lock and unlock your hubs!

bill, i remember talking with allen and steve from calmini a couple years back in moab about it, and they both seemed to think it would be possible. i don't know enough about the specifics to make any sense though.
my point is, and i think clay is saying the same thing, 2-lo rear isn't that hard, it's 2-lo front only that's the tough part.

wait a second what is the point of having two low rwd. I was talking about twin sticking it. Why would you ever want just rwd? The only way to improve steering is to actually unlock the hubs LOL.

Well actually....if you have a selectable locker...RWDL steers way better then 4WDL and helps save the clutch(over RWDH). I use it quite often.

dunno ben, but i've seen or read of a comp buggy doing it. same as a front dig, but in the rear. combined with cutting brakes (just the front brakes engaged) and you could move the rear around the same way you move the front. maybe not, i dunno, but i thought i remembered hearing that somewhere.

I thought you meant Front Disconnect when you said front diggs Ben. I took that the wrong way. I was thinking of making it a 2WD Lo range. It sucks when I'm trying to keep up with the guys in front, in 4lo, but can't steer because of the locker.
Of course, now I have a selectable locker, so it's a lot easier. But I'd still like to have a 2lo selection.
It's just a matter of taking out the shift rail tension springs and making the rail shift into Lo first, then 4wd. Just have to play with one to get it to work. I've got my blown up one to play with when I get bored.

Yeah you guys are probably right I guess rwlow can be used. I really shouldnt have commented because I don't have any twin stick experiance.

No, I wasn't saying that at all Ben. I had a twin stick in my Hilux (the Lemondrop) and it rocked!
I'd like cutting brakes as well, but with the spool in the back of mine, I can't even do that. I'm stuck.
If I put a front disco in mine, it'd just be something different and fun. I'm going to end up discarding my center console anyway.

I think my old one may be laying around on the side of your shop also....unless it is the one you installed in your rig.
Anyway I hope it works...but from what I remember when I set up the doubler...while it has two shift rails...I can't see you getting control of the Low/Neutral/High fork separately from the 2wd/4wd fork.
One of my issues with the doubler is that the TX-10 Low/Neutral/High doesn't have any stop points due to the mods made to it. The shift gate on the side of the tranny had to be modded to lock it into Low and High. I didn't bother grinding a stop point for Neutral.

I simply unlock my hubs. I use it occasionally. My friend has dual t-cases (yota) and can choose 2 lo. I'm sure a dual t-case Nissan could do it.

The one in my truck is mine Bill. If you have one at the shop, we need to get it back to you. I'm not aware that you've got one and will talk to Ryan to make sure we get that back to you. We're getting out of the storage business. If it's not ours, we don't want it there. Paul's going to charge us more for rent if we start hording stuff that's not ours. He's funny that way.

lol...whatever it was given to you and Ryan for free....if you don't want it that is fine I can take it back.

Avatar, Bwahahaha!!! :roflmao: :whack:
The one for my T-case uses the same lever with a new pattern.
2H>n>2L>4L
It's kind of early for me to be tearing into the t-case what with the first payment not even due yet.
