I use the CMPS page all the time unless I wanna pull up an old post that hasn't been active for a while, then i use the VBulletin. or use the search.

I just use the board index because the forums are not that large. I check the threads that are new from there.

On larger forums I use an active topics page, but this place I don't need to.

Reason I am asking is because we are getting with in 70% of using all of our daily processor. So just curious... im streamlining in other ways too.

compact the database ;)

Do you know if they are doing compression on the system? It would reduce space but use more CPU time.

Its CPU processor processes that we are using alot of.

We have a TON of storage.

little bit of both i guess. some of my computers have one bookmarked, some have the other. i use 6-8 different computers in any given day, so i don't even know which ones have which bookmark, i just click it. like odin said, this board isn't that big so i usually use the "today's posts" button too.

Right - but sometimes hosts have options to compress disk space, or other traffic which either saves space or increases speed, but at the cost of CPU time.

I'm assuming there are some logs or monitoring tools which will help see if there are any batch processes or such things running that use time or if something is just sitting there slowly chewing cycles for no good reason, etc.

Yeah looking through logs now to see where we can trim the fat.

Web crawlers took a huge jump this month so may have to reset the crawl limit time.

LOL.... Thats not funny its opening over 2000 pages a day on here by itself... thats where our CPU us being ate up. Every page it opens causes the site to run a process.

CPMS. I wish that hitting the RONIN logo would bring it back to that page, that, or hitting the home button. Doing either would be cool.

I didn't know there were two forums. I like the Vbulletin layout better. The other is a bit cluttered.
