Allen Cox

Starting on March 3rd, I will be available for side work. Let me know if anyone is interested!

$250 Crawler gear installation (you bring me the t-case and gears)
$300 T-belt, with water pump, seals and tensioner replacement (you provide all parts)
$500 Clutch replacement (you provide clutch parts, turning flywheel extra)
Gear installation can be discussed, depends on the axle (or 3rd member) and if a locker is to be installed at the same time.

maybe i should worry about tires first. hell, maybe I should finish my truck first.

How much for a gear setup? I need to swap in the ARB in my R200.

i've got an extra one, if it will fit you can have it. then you don't have to have your truck down while it gets installed.

If you're still doing side work a bit later in the year, you'll definitely be getting a call from me.

I swung by Tynan's in November to look you up, but they told me you were gone and didn't pony up where you went. Shoot, had a 12-pack in the back of the X for you and everything. Payment for you helping me out via XOC a while back.

How much for a gas tank, including parts?

Allen Cox
02-10-2007, 06:19 AM
Swapping in an ARB for the R200 would run about $250, you bringing be the diff.

Swapping in a gas tank wouldn't be that bad, about $75, plus parts (should be just an O-ring, rest of it would be OK).

As far as a 'bulk discount' on the gear installs, not much of a bulk labor that I can do there. Unless I hire a bunch o' "undocumented workers", and you don't want that. :D

Tyler M... did you ever get a low pinion 200 in your r50?

Allen,

Glad to see that you are back 'in business'.

I'm going to need a good once over. Not sure everything is back in shape after the rear axle issues, motor mount, etc.....

I'll drop a line soon to figure out when/where type of specifics.

Appreciate the offer Jaime. For some reason the R200s on the R50s are high pinion which means I can't upgrade gears. I still happen to have a low pinion R200 housing from a 95 Pathfinder sitting in the garage that I've been looking at retrofitting so I can regear but it's also a different width. I'd imagine that "mounting" it wouldn't be very tough, but I'd have to make sure there are CVs available for the new width. Probably not even worth it...might as well just regear the t-case.

I may be giving you a call or email. once the tranny is done i think the t belt and crap like that need to be done ASAP. i have no idea how long its been for either of those. prolly take it to nissan and have em do there 100 point check on it and tell me what they think. (or maybe not depending lol)

How about prices for the following::twocents:

1.)H233B 4.88 re-gear and LockRite Locker isntall
2.)C200A 4.88 re-gear
3.)Pull out C200 and R180A out of my '87 and install the newly geared and lockered C200A and H233B into to '87.

I'll do the regears (with locker for the H233B) for $250, each, you bring me the diffs/3rd members.

As far as doing the swap in a driveway, that would be better done on a mod day. That's not something I'd drive all the way to the Fort to do as a side job.

Unless you drive the vehicle down to me, and I can do it in the shop. The front diff, no issue. The rear, as long as it's a bolt in deal with minimal welding, shouldn't be that bad either, as long as I had it in my shop. Then we're looking at probably $300 to swap in both axles for you, all together, providing there isn't a lot of fabrication work to do for the rear swap.

I wish you were in OR! So many things I'd have you doing on my truck, gear setups and locker installs and such!

Oh, and I know where those 4.88s are :D

Allen, how much would you charge to install a set of cams?

Cams I'll have to think about. Those things are such a huge PITA while inside the truck. It's almost easier to pull the heads to do them.

I'll give it some thought, take a look inside the engine bay and see how much skin I'll leave behind before I give a quote.

Thanks Allen. I don't have a set, but I've been looking at getting a set to try and help fix a few power issues. Just trying to figure out how much the entire project is going to cost before I buy them.

Just get some junkyard VG cams and get them reground then install them yourself. It really isnt that bad, just time consuming.

After seeing how badly the shop messed up when installing the guys cams in the R50 on AC (98silverpathy) I'd rather have someone who knows what they're doing install them.

could you make some custom sliders?

Allen Cox
05-04-2007, 07:59 AM
Not very good ones. I do know someone that can. His name is Matt Black, and he has the necessary means and equipment to do so. He's built some tube chassis stuff, as well as cages and whatnot. PM me, and I'll give you his number.

Need a new clutch installed w/ flywheel resurface and crawler gears installed. How much to do both at the same time?
Shawn

Allen Cox
05-23-2007, 07:09 PM
I'd love to do both at the same time, but it would take more than a solid day to get it all done. How soon do you need them done? I can talk with a buddy to see if I can do it at his shop over a couple of nights. If that works out with him, then I'll knock off $75, and will cover the turning if you pay in cash up front.

I'm waiting on some cash to come in from a few side jobs. Should be about a month give or take a few weeks. $500 for clutch + $250 for crawler gears - $75 hook up:D = $675 labor?
Shawn

Allen Cox

Yeah, for about 10+ hours of work or so.

That is GREAT! I will be in touch as the time gets closer. I just got another jobs scheduled so it should be coming fast.
Thanks again,
