Do you need an oven or a range?

I have both.

I have a single wall mount oven, located in Boulder it's almost new, black and you can have it for $20

or

I have an old range with a coil cooktop, it's free and in Aurora.

To clarify, an oven mounts in cabinets, and a range is a oven/cooktop combo that stands by itself

well i suppose i need a range/ cooktop. although all i need really is something to bake with.

steeze

well you can bake with both, they are both ovens. A range has an oven and cooktop so I have both but the range is in much poorer condition, the kind of condition you get when it's free. The oven on the other hand is almost new and ill hook you up cheap.

it definitely heats up we used it to heat the house before we got the furnace working. If you want it you can have it, it's in Aurora how do you plan on getting it? Do you have a truck? it won't fit in your X.

Hey man the range is at the house im flipping in aurora, Im not planning on going there today. I was thinking about it a little more and im really unsure about the quality of the range. The house were flipping was potentially a crack-house so im not sure if any drugs were cooked in it. We were going to recycle it originally I wouldn't recommend it but it's free if you really want it.

The thing is the house is in very poor condition and a lot of these houses will have weird shit going on like range hood's in closets and stuff. There's a definite possibility the previous owners were cooking crack on the stove so just take that into consideration.

If you want the oven however just swing through Boulder, I think it might be able to fit in your X if it's empty.

got that storage box in the back. probably won't fit huh? even with the seats down

the box doesn't come out too easy due to the amp being stored in there. so basically it's wired to my truck.....lol

soooo....here's what i just realized tonight.

any oven i find is gonna be 220 huh?

is there such a thing as a 110 oven/stove? cuz man i don't feel like running 220..... nor do i think i'd be allowed to here.

Something you could do is build a set of Pigtails. You split the 220 into two 110 plugs. I can't remember how we wired ours up for our sound system, but we never had problems with it. Basically you plug two edison(110v) plugs into separate outlets, and the pigtail joins them at a 220v outlet.

Something like this (http://www.quick220.com/220_volt.htm)
but home made. Someone else could probably explain it better.

Don't try it without looking into it closely. Electricity is a mean thing.

S2X01
04-06-2009, 06:45 AM
yeah....i'll have to ask an electrician at work about a setup like that...

S2X01
04-13-2009, 08:20 PM
well.....something like that has way too low of a wattage to run an oven.

and go figure..... there isn't a 220V outlet for me to use within miles.

this blows
