Only works when dial is set on "4". 1,2,3 no blow. Is there a step rheostat or what?

there is a resistor somewhere under the dash that either blows or comes un-soldered causing this problem. i don't recall exactly where it is or what part needs replaced, sorry, not too much help. i have opposite problem, i have 1,2,3 but no 4, and i learned about the resistor trying to figure out what was up with mine.

this may help. best i could find right now. i'll do some more digging. i know you need to pull the glove box first. if you figure it out- let me know. I might tackle this sometime this weekend too. i'll post up a how to if i do!

Yup, Blower motor resistor....

$10 part methinks.

What happens is it is only seeing 12V as because the resistors lower the voltage to like 9, 6, and 3 V for the other settings.

Hopefully it isn't the fan burning it out. How much is a blower motor?

NO, it is just the resistor thingy. It is like $10 or something like that. It is cake to do.
