Not already!!! I'd definitely try and buy it back from the insurance company. Even if you don't end up keeping it and chopping the top you've got a ton of money invested in aftermarket parts.

Thats why I don't like to drive in the snow. I'm not worried about me, its the other tards blowing by me doing 75 on kipling that scare me.

If I dare ask......How'd it happen?

I know you will be able to turn it into a nice rig. A friend of mine blew one of his 35" tires on the interstate while going 75mph. He turned out ok but his truck was totalled and he never had it appraised. So If i remember correctly he only got one thousand bucks. Ryan Gee had his first pathfinder/rockcrawler totalled without insurance before he even got it to the trail. It sucks and i bet it's a huge downer for ya but shit happens and your not hurt... I know you'll make it cooler then it was before :)

like Ben said, shit happens, and at least you aren't hurt. that sucks dude, I'm sure it will become even better.

The thought makes me want to :puke:

As much as it sucks to wreck a rig it is still only a car.... Like the other fellas said your not hurt!

You walked away and that is the primary concern right now!

Chop the roof and time to put an exo type thing on. It will all work out.

Put a Frontier cab on that sucker with a 4 link and allpro rear cage!

ChefTyler

Wow Max, that sucks. Glad your are ok...the Frontier cab thing sounds like a good idea to me.

Ben, there are better places to park your truck for flex shots than your bimmer!

so swap a whole cab onto my frame?
max

CurleyMan
02-17-2007, 09:20 PM
yea why not they do have a good point... It does entail quite a bit of work but you could do all of it yourself. I'm pretty sure you need to remove the entire dash/seats/seatbelts/wiring harness/heater core input, output hoses/ect. However I don't think it would be that bad of a task.

MaxdaSwede
02-17-2007, 09:22 PM
im thinking more of a roof removal since that is the only part which is damaged....

Whatever floats your boat :D I would definitely get an interior cage done...or a combo like Al's. If you need some place to take it to get a quote on a cage, look up Hanksville Hoyrods down in Highlands Ranch, just south of 470 on Santa Fe.

Also, has the insurance company already totaled it? My X rolled on I-70 a few years back and it was ~$500 short of being totaled...and it was a roof replacement, plus all the sheet metal on the drivers side.

Have you priced the top replacement? It might not be as bad as the Ins Co says. If you shop around you might be able to find a totaled X that you can cut the roof off.

Glad you are ok though. The rest is gravy!

Max, just saw this, that sucks/rocks! Sucky, having your first ride down like that, but heh, with all that work on her, you can keep her strictly for fun now!

If chopping the top is in the works for you, I have some things to help out that will make it a lot easier and cleaner for you that it was for me. Massive things, we'll hook up when you get her back. I also know a great guy for the cage work, probably better than the guy that did mine, and for better $$$. I way overpayed for mine.

I know your heart's in the dump, but that will be fixed soon, and you'll fall in love with her all over again! :o

Max, that sucks so bad. I'm sorry dude. Glad your okay though. Again, if it helps, two weeks ago I saw a dude standing on the side of 225 next to his flipped '07 Fronty- temp tags and everything.

I like Kevin's idea, chop the top and do an exo all over it.

What is the purpose of an interior cage? By the time it helps your X is totaled! :doublefinger:

......

What shop did your work? Maybe you can give the info to Max.

Interior cage saves you life, ya know, when ya flop it, hard? Exo Cage saves body panels...think with me now :D
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As for the shop that did my work, they did a passable job, nothing I would jump for joy over.

I went to England for 3 months the day it went to the body shop...was it ready when I got back? Nope, took another week to get it finished not to mention they didn't properly finish the seam between the roof and the passenger side of the body...actually told me to bring it back in a week...tards, you had three MONTHS AND AN EXTRA WEEK TO PUT A NEW ROOF ON MY TRUCK and you want me to bring it back???

No, no recommendations from this guy.

Exactly...my life, wife, and child are worth more than my body work.

Valerie was in the race truck one day waiting at a stoplight. Behind her was a Ford Thunderbird, a Dodge Durango, and a Chevy 3/4 ton going mach 2 not stopping. The Chevy crumpled up it's nose deposited its engine into the back of the Durango which put its front bumper into the Thunderbird...all this mess was brought to a halt by the 4130 cage of our race truck. The Chevy, Ford, and Dodge had to be towed away and Val barely bent an aluminum rear skid.

Exo cage = :rainfro:
