I'm looking at purchasing some Alcan Springs for the front and rear of the inprogress hardbody KC d44 SAS
Can any of you with alcan springs (front, rear or both) give me the specs on your setup.
For the front...did you order a base 7 leaf FSJ setup with lighter springs?
For the rear how much lift over a stock nissan did you need to match the front and does your rear sit lower then your front? (I hate that look)

I'm running Alcan orbit eyes front and rear. As far as measurements i cannot give you any info that will help. When i decided to use orbit eyes we had to chop off parts of the spring hanger to make them wider. So we (myself and allphase) decided to make the springs a little longer then needed. The frame was notched to make the longer springs push the shackles up inside. When you do call alcan they will ask you about the truck, winch, engine, and passengers. What i'm saying is Alcan custom builds the spring pack for your specific vehicle. In the rear I have a 4" lift over factory height but still had to use blocks to make the rear level with the front. I am very unhappy with my rear spring flex and will either move them inboard or go to a 4 link with air shocks. This is not due to the quality of the spring or the blocks but it is infact due to nissans short factory spring hanger placements. Longer springs flex better....Anyways I called Alcan and even they don't want to share the exact size of my setup. This is because they want to set the springs up for your vehicle specifically. He did tell me that I had a 4" jeep waggy front setup which was built to be soft and flexy enough for my 4cyl nissan. They are sweet springs and probably my favorite truck part...

How tall are the blocks? Is the rear higher, lower or the same as the front?
For the front i'm going to just get stock waggy height (with a softer rate) as it looks fine with my 160,000 mile stock waggy springs.
For the rear they are going to ask me how much lift and I was guessing 6 inches. I don't I don't want to end up with blocks but my 200,000 mile Nissan springs are toast so 6 inches may be too much . I do think I will go with a longer rear spring (tail of the spring) and some missing link or boomrang shackles. They should help out with the flex.

whatever you do don't go too high in the rear cause you cannot block the front. I'd almost set up your front first and let it sit on that axle with your new springs. Then you can order the rear so you won't get the wrong setup. Alcan is known to take three weeks so i can see how this plan may not work for ya. If you want to look at my truck and measure things or whatever let me know. I am pretty disturbed that i'm using blocks so if you need just a 4" lift i may have mine for sale soon. I plan on ordering taller longer springs and inboarding them but we will see.
