I know of 2 sets for sale right now, but I think both were $200+.

Junk yards will sell the whole pumpkin for under $200.

Can someone name a junkyard that would have a Frontier or Xterra 4.9 h233b pumpkin? This is a rare bird. Junkyards do not like to part out a rear axle.

i found mine relatively easy by using car-part.com. search 2002-2004 xterra non supercharger. i got the whole axle drum to drum for $270.

I have seen as low as $195 for the carrier.

I let the shop do it...but only because it was going on an ARB. If you get the whole third member from the xterra/frontier you can swap in your 31 spline carrier and install it. This way you only need to set the gear mesh, i'm told it is very easy.

i'm sure, but at the time i was looking thats what i got. besides i conside myself lucky, i only wanted the 3rd member, they said it would be too much of a hassle and gave me the whole damn axle, i was happy with that.
