Hey Folks,

I took some good advice from James and got together with Shaun over at Concept-Customs to see about a custom winch bumper for my 2nd gen. I laid out a few general requirements, 1) be able to house a Ramsey Patriot UT 9500 winch 2) be as tough as possible for my back country prospecting, and 3) be able to crush mini-coopers. I couldn't be more than happy with the outcome and wanted to share the outcome so far

Sorry, got to only give you link to facebook page to see them. I gotta figure out how to post pic to the site

I wanted to get these pictures posted before the final exterior plating is completed and hides the real power of the structure. The entire bumper with the skid plate was so light, it was lifted into place by Shaun's wife so he could bolt into place. Let her try that after that 98 lbs winch goes in lol.

Final assembly expected in January

Cheers

Lol, I had thoughts of having it painted like a land tortoise with the tortoise back shell design on the deck and the belly shell painted on the skids...but I drive too fast for that
Thanks...long long way to go though

tyvm. I finally got the winch and am looking forward to getting it installed and the front relatively finished off.
I went out with the crew last weekend to Illinois Gulch and was almost talked into trying the wall by Shaun. I think I would have tried it but my wife was with me and if I busted something, would have to face her wrath for stranding her out there lol. I have to post the pics from the trip after I figure out how.

Out of every semi stock x out ther last weekend, I most wanted to see this one make at least an attempt. I designed this bumper for a fairly stock vehicle, with a much improved approach angle. I certainly respect Ed's willingness to decline the invite....I believe however, that he may have made the ascent without a hitch.
