The BLM is trying to close Choke Cherry Canyon in Farmington. As of today they are parking their vehicles at the trailheads, and searching vehicles trying to enter. The trail system could be closed as soon as next Tuesday.
The BLM says the main reason that they are closing off the trail is due to many complaints about the conflicting user groups. The local 4x4 club looked into this, and there are NO police reports .
As with most trail closures the BLM is ignoring travel management plans that have been in place for years, and outright lying to close trails.:mad:
This is being called a "temporary closure", but that is the same way they closed Tellico forever. They close a trail temporarily, and forget that it was ever open.
Please send a letter to Janelle_Alleman@blm.gov asking that the BLM rethinks their stance on this trail closure.
