There are placed small passenger car coils behind frame and leaf to restore leaf curve and for bump stop (they lift my old weak leafs around 4'' - and 2'' bodylift)

So you have coils and leafsprings? Interesting concept

Yapp - leafs and coils
Leafs must be very weak or very soft - and coils are taken from very small passenger car - then it works almost like coil suspension
Coil helps to lift soft coils and is a pump stop too there - many less possibilitis to brake leafs

It leaf/coil spring strength is well balanced it flexes too ok - and can flex better then mine with SOA (higher roll center)
flex is not a primary request on these car - it's swamper
One little bit older picture

The cable that pulls the truck...

Packman5280
03-31-2010, 06:07 PM
lol, good point, hadn't thought of that. although i once winched a car that was behind me by looping through a snatch block then back under the truck to the car behind me. it worked cuz my truck was so tall and the car was really low.

(EST)_MahviaDeTyrk

Really - I Don't know exactly
I have newer seen truck with center mounted winch - but look little bit earlier post where are gearbox/transfer case mounts (there is a pic where is gearbox side with PTO place cover) - I think dawn the floor beside gearbox and engine is marginal space for cable (exhaust piping must be removed/rebuilded)
I wanna install half of winch trough floor into cabin behind driver seat - so I can see from mirror it and I can switch free running from driver position

Started winch mount welding

Now new axle tube is installed but no coilovers jet - so I don't know jet how it works

Try to reinforce CV's with heat seated steel rings
rings are ready for installation - material is Stal-45 http://www.multistal.pl/go.live.php/EN-H351/4510530.html - I really don't know what these is in other countries
http://y.delfi.ee/orig/171991/9143729_bqyLIE.jpeg

OEM one is mech drum brake behind transfer - I wanna rebuild it into disk and hydraulic

CV's are ready - heat seated rings (-0,3mm - maybe it's too small seat - installing was too easy I think - if I break these, next will do -0,5mm) welded from three points and turned into size
OEM external size = 90mm
Now 96mm (ring wall 3mm)

I install these one inside the truck (I hope it's just temporary one and I can make custom stainless fuel tank soon)
Taken from soviet truck UAZ-469
Its 42 L - OEM Patrol one is 89 L
It was old one - so cleaned inside and out and painted and made some little mod's too

Just few side fotos to see how it's with 32'' and how it seems with 35'' (if I move rear axle 7'' back)
If I move rear axle 7'' back wheelbase = 100''

Are these new tires made for heavy equipment? Or for light truck? I just wonder if they are too stiff for/too many ply for a light vehicle like a patrol.

they are tractor front axle tires = agree - they may bee too stiff - can be cutted
But I have seen they work well and self cleaning is exellent

Is that a vacuum actuated locker? What's the width on that bad boy (wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface)?

I need some parts for my '66 Patrol, I wonder if I could get a deal on shipping if I ordered a bunch of stuff from down under.

Vacuum locker with membrane (can used with pressure too - no problem)

Don't remember - need to measure (going to travel - can answer after 2 weeks)
