So, pathfinder's are notorious for really dim headlights. What is the cause of this? Is it the wiring that powers them? Why are the headlights so...worthless?

I used to have an 80's prelude that had dim-a$$ headlights. The auto parts store offered upgraded headlights (sealed beam) for like 20 bux each. I bet they have these for the Pathy, too (but not sure).

I just searched csk auto. They sell upgraded bulbs. However, you won't see much improvement unless you also replace the lenses. Looks like a little over 200 bux for the whole enchilada.

I just don't understand what the issue with the old sealed beam design was. Since it included the lens, it meant you had great performance every time you installed a new one. With the newer cars you have to replace the lens and the bulb. The good news is that lexan lenses can be polished.

I replaced my bulbs with the most powerful ones i can find...even then they are still weak. I dont think its the wires, i think the headlights just suck.

I have the upgraded bulbs, and I do admit, they are a tiny bit better.

The other Jeff, I think I know the write-up you're talkin about. He did like a BMW HID conversion, it ended up being spendy but his results were really good.

Jamie, I think you told me about that before, like his lenses were clear, without the fragmentation in the lenses.

Fusion, are you talking about an entire kit with new lamps and bulbs?

Sorry jeff....pathfinder and truck headlights are not the same. The truck uses standard square sealed beam lights....the pathfinder has some crappy OEM plastic design.

Can the HB setup be installed on the Pathy?

Can the HB setup be installed on the Pathy?

Yes, a lot of people do the D21 front swap.

So, could a relay be installed in the wiring to the headlights to allow for more amps to the headlights so they don't blow, or...?

And fusion, that eBay listing is I think what Ryan had on his pathfinder that Jamie had mentioned. Those are flippin awesome! I think I will try those first, and if it's not enough, that HID kit you posted I will prolly go for next.

yes, this is how mine are wired right now, with relays. so the power comes straight off the battery via large gauge wire.

A friend of mine did the Euro clear lights, some Silverstars and the relay on his Pathy, his lights are bright as hell. I can't find a pic right now but it looks pretty cool in the daytime too.

That HID kit that fusion posted is all of like...I think $30, so if these headlights aren't enough, that's another step, and it won't be that costly. I'll post up some pix of before and afters.

Compare the front of my truck to the front of the chevy up ahead. I used to have an after pic for this but I deleted it by accident and I can't find it. I'll take another one like this tomorrow night and show the difference.

Lol, I have the 55w hella driving lights on mine that I turn on if it's needed. I just wanted something a little less annoying on the main streets.

I have the same headlights on ebay with a custom headlight harness. puts out way better light than the old stuff. Over time the stock headlights turn yellow and the chrome reflective stuff deteriorates reducing light output and pattern.

The bulbs I have are the sylvania superwhites. I need to adjust my headlights down a bit. I wasn't too happy with the headlights being plastic. The next thing I am planning on is that HID kit that was posted earlier on here.
