Cleaned out my hubs last weekend to find this:

I'm pretty sure this is very uncommon to happen since I've never seen water damage like it before. I noticed the wheel bearing grease was rusty in color and chunky dry when I popped the covers off the hub assemblies. My donor axle came off a 85 Grand Wagoneer, BTW.

Here's the fitment of the Locking hubs. you can see that all that rusted over crud is in the way. I'll have to start chiseling the crud down. There's still plenty of bite on the teeth so I should be okay.

I have two hub assemblys in my garage, because I went to autozone and bought new ones (brake roter and hub $54). If you want them just meet me somewhere.

This place sells them pretty cheap also and they are new $29.95.
