Well it's been passed...
I too voted yes, but being a political science major this is right in my ballpark

I voted no. If they're basing it in any way on the VA medical system, we're FUBAR.

And to punish people that don't have/need health care is utterly moronic. And nice way to stick in the taking over of the student loan program. Again, being a white male is a detriment and this will make it even harder to get loans.

Why? Our government is broken and me worrying about it is not going to change anything. They are all lawyers? Haven't seen one yet I trust! Our country will go into chapter 11 here soon! LOL

Our heath care is in the bag because a doctor gets sued for cutting a finger nail crooked... I don't see the lawyers having any financial problems... however reform the health care so they can keep on suing! oh ya that is the answer...

I agree with everything you are saying, except for "me worrying about it isn't going to change anything"...

That's the whole reason this country is going down the shitter is because most of the general public is apathetic, and doesn't have the balls to stand up to these fucks in office that don't represent the people anymore. The electoral college is an outdated and innefectual system, and the powers that be are trying to keep it that way. Has anybody given any thought as to why we have a "bipartisan" system where neither party truly represents public opinion? We have gone from a republic, to a democracy, and soon to be dictatorship in the span of about 75 years, and no one has batted an eyelash.

The other issue here is that these same individuals often have no interest in taking responsibility for THEMSELVES either. (Including the 6+ people that voted yes above) When you have a majority of the population that wants to be told how to lead their own lives and be spoon fed by a corrupt governing body instead of thinking and providing for themselves, pretty much all is lost.

All I have to say is history repeats itself -- and it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Me setting here on the couch bitching about politics will not change anything. If a person really wants to make a difference go get elected. Otherwise you are just pissing in the wind letting the media form what you think. :toast:

Well I'm wishing I could change my vote...
After seeing all the earmarks tossed into the bill to persuade congress to vote yay, is quite discerning. If it couldn't get passed by simply being a healthcare bill then it shouldn'tve passed in the first place. The only few good things with the bill are 5 million jobs created, the 32 million americans without insurance will have it more easily obtainable and the that it'll feed $13 billion back into the tanking economy. Other than the the bill is fucked and should be rejected ASAP!!!!!

I voted no. Why should I pay for other people's healthcare? Why should I be penalized for not wanting insurance it's my right to choose health coverage or not. If people can afford a brand spanking new car and make monthly payments, I don't see why they can't pay for health coverage. I mean what's better, looking good in a bad ass car or your health?

Voted for BACON! I see the current shitty system at work daily, now its really gonna get SHITTY, on every hard working Americans dime. I know of 2 hemodilysis pts. that I work with, cant tell a soul because of the Hipa Law, a law that protects the fucks never mind therir here Illegally. Its total BS, I dont mind people comeing here, just do it the proper way and dont be a FUCKING finanical PARASITE. I dont think anyone in the country would argue that we dont need alittle reform, however this was the wrong way to go about it.

The majority of the pts. I "put up with" are uninsured, but they can smoke a shit pile of smokes, get tats, body piercings, have kids, drink like a fish and of course, less I forget smoke and mainline grade "A" shit. All this because of the wonderful social programs, not bashing the programs, hell my wife and I were both on food stamps when we were first married, but we beat the streets and got jobs. A crutch thats all they should be not a source of income. Term limits on the programs and a person should not get more money for spitin slimmy leaches out.

Oh God I did it again, rambled on, sorry. Im going to get a beer that IIII bought with MYYY money so I can get ready to deal with the dreggs of society tomorrow.:bannana:

You know its interesting that people are saying by guns, I, being prior service(infantry) love guns and have a few not hunting type guns but TACTICAL type guns. Dont plan on shooting anybody unless of course they come into my house uninvited. Most of the political forums I read most if not all the people on them mention "a revaloution is coming". Not sure what they mean, but I agree to an extent, some CRRRRAZY change is coming not sure when or how big and its not going to be what bama thought.

I like the idea of healthcare reform, but I hate the way this was done. They couldn't vote it in when the dems had a super majority. So they tried to back door it in, but Mass showed them that even the most liberal state didn't want it, but they still tried to get it passed. That didn't work so they made it to where they wouldn't need all the votes, and still had trouble getting it to pass.

Seems simple to me that the people didn't want this to pass, but our "representatives" knew better than we did. Our "representatives" let us down yesterday just so they could be mentioned in a history book(probably titled The Fall of an Empire). We were lied to from the get go about this bill, and because of that even the people who voted it in don't know what was in it. We were just promised that they would fix the problems after they voted it in. This is BS. If you buy a car that needs work to run, you fix the car before you take a cross country trip. You don't just HOPE the whole trip is downhill, and that you can CHANGE the clutch after the wheels start moving.

What really scares me is they set a president that they can pass anything they want even if they don't have the votes needed.

And I'm pissed at both sides for this too. The republicans did everything in their power to look like whinny little babies. Personally I say vote them all out, and start over. Politicians are ALL scumbags who only care about their career, and how the party sees them instead of representing their constituents.

BTW Allen I think I lost all my guns a while ago too. I think they fell off the side of my boat.

Sorry for the rant, but I just think our gov is getting way to big, and it could lead to some really bad times.

If the 5 million jobs created are more parasitic government jobs, is that a good thing? Most of the jobs created in the past year are government, which means more cost to the rest of us.

Feeding $13 billion into the economy from where? The future? To what? The 5 million new gov't employees that came about with the new beaurocracy created to administer this monstrosity?

I don't think an honest man can get elected anymore. I agree with some of the first statements - we are FUBAR!

I've read that it's supposed to be $13 million a year starting in 2016, of course thats after citizens are fined for not getting insurance. It'll be coming from the taxes imposed on pharmaceutical companies and makers of medical equipment.

The reason the American people have become apathetic is that we have seen that The Powers That Be no longer give a rats ass about what WE want, or what WE tell them. The fact that the lobbyists and big money get to have more sway than the common man should tell you everything.

Since when has it been proper for a person to spend 30+ years in a 2 or 4 year position, and make millions of dollars in the process while their children are kept from serving in the Military, or having to struggle like the rest of us?

You say history repeats itself... Yes it does, and never for the better.
We are Rome before the Fall.
We are Germany on the eve of the Richstag burning.

We have done it to ourselves, and it saddens me that this is the country I willingly offered my life and health to protect.

You other veterans know this as well as I, we took an oath to defend the Constitution, and the citizens. Not the politicians, nor the president.

The "change" that was promised is occurring, and once done, will not be the kind of change we want.
