View Full Version : Mod day for Early April???

I figured I would start this thread nice and early. I do not think much has happened with the Colorado Springs mod day so I was thinking maybe we could have one a little farther up North? I have a couple of things I would like to do like some off-road lights. The main thing I want to do is install an electric fan out of a taurus and will need advice/help installing it and running the wiring. If i do it myself it will be hot-wired and installed with duct-tape. and a little bit of blood.:D

So what do you guys think?? I'd be willing to host the day at my house. My garage is full of crap and dirt bike stuff so I have no way to get a vehicle in it. I have basic tools but more importantly I will have  :beermug:

Heck, I could stop and see the relations in Windsor while I'm at it. Let me know when you get it figured out.

Anybody here ever done a e-fan mod before? I just need to know all the parts I need to get.

Depending on how scheduling works out, I could host a mod day. I live in South East Fort Collins, just off the highway. I have 2 stalls with 8' doors so we could get some of the taller vehicles in. I do only have the basic tools - floor jack, jack stands, socket set. I have an air compressor if anyone has air tools.

How is April 14th for everyone? My wife is going to be gone that day, so good excuse to hold a mod day. I don't really need to do anything right now, so how does the 14th work for those that do?

I'll have to see if any of my parts make it in time. Could be fun! 14th, either way, I think I can make it.

So far that sounds good to me. I will try to have my components for the e-fan ready by then. Have we decided who's house? Like I said before I can do it but I am limited to basic tools no big jack and no use of the inside of the garage. On the bright side I will have beer so I dont mind hosting.

Zonianbrat - I planned to host it. I don't have super deluxe tools, but I do have a 2-bay garage with 8' doors, a floor jack, 2 jack stands, a good socket set, a torque wrench, and an air compressor if anyone has air tools. I have all of the other basic hand tools - just nothing real automotive specific like pullers, etc. I'm also willing to drink your beer :)

The more the merrier! It is as much a social event as anything. When we get closer and see what mods people want to do we can see what extra tools, etc. might be nice to have. Looking forward to meeting more folks!

I'll post up some directions to my house later this week.
Alex - do you need anything more than the basic tools I/you have? It sounds like Ditchfinder may have access to anything special.

Ok just as an FYI for anyone that is doing anything to their X that day. Do everyone a favor... go buy some PB Blaster TODAY and start spraying your bolts TODAY.

I wont be able to make it but it will make everything much easier for everyone else.

Is there going to be a welder onsite? I still need my frame and shock tower fixed. I have the steel but my welder friend is busy, i'm not sure when I can get him to weld it all up.

For some reason I had just assumed you got your shock tower welding done, since you hadn't mentioned it recently. I've got a good welder and plenty of room in the garage, but I've got to help a friend move up in Longmont on Saturday. I should be free on Sunday, and for that matter Thu and Fri afternoon and evenings are available too.

When i'm working I travel alot (109+ flights last year) so I have not been around to mess with it. This week I fly out today and don't get back until Saturday morning at 3am.

I'm am also still waiting on the brake line replacment from foothill offroad, so I wouldn't have been able to drive it anyway.

Sunday would be good or any time next week.
