I have a 2000 Xterra engine that is for sale.
i bought it with plans to build it into a 3.4, with higher compression pistons, (which i also have) out of a VH45, and the VG30DETT rods (which i have) to directly bolt on the pistons to the stock crank.
ENGINE INFO>
I bought the engine from a fellow nissan enthusiast from the N4W board/AZXC board, who had it.
he was the person that did the actual swap on the Xterra it got taken out of and put the new one in.
the engine RAN FINE other than having a SLIGHT OVER HEATING issue.
the engine had about 130k when it got replaced.
because of the fact that i was going to rebuild it anyways, and i knew it ran when it came out, i never had it compression tested, so i dont have those numbers. sorry.
I have disassembled the engine entirely, and found the only issue to be slightly clogged water galleys. nothing a 3 day bath in a Vat can't take care of easily.
other than that, the engine can be in perfect working condition stock after a bath, new rings, maybe a hone, and a full gasket set.
Or you can do what i was going to do, : Bore the block 1.5mm over, use the Vh45 pistons with the DETT rods, and have a 3.4 Liter VG engine with an approximate 9.6-9.7 Compression Ratio. (Here is a excellent write-up of how it is done. http://www.motoiq.com/magazine_articles ... vg30e.aspx )Since i have ALREADY acquired the parts for you necessary to do so, and the block have already been taken apart, this is what i would recommend.
the DETT rods have already been checked and cleaned and a ready to install with stock bearing sizes.
If you want, i can have a machine shop inspect the entire engine and all of its parts at your cost, other wise, this engine is for sale as it comes.
why i am selling you ask?
i have been persuaded to attempt the challenging feat of putting a V8 in the pathy instead. sooooooo enough said...
