alright, I am about to buy my new coils for the rear, not sure which ones to get. I have stock bronco coils (18" tall) in it now, and it needs to be about 4-5" taller. here are my thoughts, chime in with any advice
1. superflex 5.5" coils. linear rate, 23" tall.
2. superlist 5.5" coils. linear rate, 20" tall. claimed 415lb rate.
3. rusty's 8.5" XJ coils. linear rate. claimed 180lb rate
4. james duff 5.5" coils. variable rate.
any thoughts on this? I posted the rates and heights I could find, not sure how accurate it is, 415lb vs 180lb seems like a lot of difference. I am leaning towards the superflex coils, thinking the XJ coils would be too soft.

I would go with the progressive rate. Everything I have read on coils and coil overs recommends them.

one addition, Deaver makes a 5.5" bronco coil, 190lbs, 23" tall.

My brother is running the Wild Horses 5.5" rockcrawler springs. They measured 23" and compress about 4-5". Spring rate is not stiff at all. http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i186/kennylauter909/ratlesnake%20feb07/IMG_1062.jpg

SOA with stock waggy packs in the front, with those coils and the buckets raised an inch make it sit level, could probably go with the 4.5 without messing with the buckets.

Do you happen to know (or could you measure) the I.D. of those coils? :D

so you think i should got 4.5" instead of 5.5"? I don't wnat to end up too short and have to buy them again, was thinking i would cut them off if they were too tall.
ryan, could I borrow one of those fancy sets of coils in your garage just to test ride height once i get the links together?
tyler, i'll measure them tonight when i get home, i've got the stock bronco coils in the garage

Packman, the super flex 5.5" coils that Bronco Graveyard sells are made by Deaver. When you order them from BG, they're shipped straight from Deaver. BTW, they're 190 in/lb. I posted it in the other thread here but I don't think you caught it...

ID is 4"
My front springs (4.5"lift) ride at exactly 17". Thats from 22". That would make the spring rate around 200#, go figure? i thought it was higher.

Thanks for measuring. I was hoping they'd be 5". Might still be able to make them work.
