OK a few of you got quite an experience buying liquor in Utah. Yest there are very weird laws but there is nothing we can do but work around them. ;)

Here are the highlights:
* All alcoholic beverages are expensive in Utah. Normally %50 above your usual price.
* HAPPY HOURS are illegal, or any other promotion to sell it cheaper
* Many bars have a Club Membership fee to drink their beer. $5-10 and this can normally cover 5-6 people.
* It is Illegal to sell beer cold unless it is the 3.2 in gas stations.
* It is Illegal to sell Ice where REAL beer is sold.
* Micro Brews you pay through the nose for.
* You can NOT get a keg in Utah.
* All liquor stores are STATE owned.
* There is only 1 store in Moab.

Now all of this being said:
* Yes I will be hauling my stuff in. :D ;)
* It is against their laws to bring in more than 300 oz. (It is pretty close to this but I can not find the number).
* It is against their laws to bring in a keg.

Current price list for Utah. It will NOT be cheper more than likely in Moab a little bit more expensive. (http://www.abc.utah.gov/Products/product%20price%20books/AlphaPriceList.pdf)

This is just good info for everyone going so you dont have a culture price shock. And yes I may break a few laws crossing the Utah border. ;)

Just bring two vehicles like last year, Kev, then you get 600 oz. I have no issues running to GJ to hit up a liquor store one day after the trail to replenish either :D

LOL well by my calculations the "stealth vehicle" was carrying well in excess of 1000 oz

yeah, stealthy. that's what it was. "no officer, there's nothing under that big blue tarp that is flailing in the wind and keeps falling off. nothing at all".

Last year I just filled a cooler full of bottles and ended up bringing a few back. Ths year I was thinking poney keg just cause it would be cheaper. I know I'm a light weight.

Wow, 1000oz thats alot of Tuaca!

But Officer, look at my truck. Do you think I could afford a real gas tank? That's what the "keg" is, like a trike.

No, I can't open it up, emissions laws prohibit me from doing so! :D
