Hey everyone I need to know if anyone has access to the FSM for an 87 pathy. I need the complete wiring digram for the entire rig. Basically what I am doing is trying to figure out what wires I have to retain when I do my SBC swap. For one I am going to be using a aftermarket wiring harness from like painless or one of the other companies and from what I can tell no one has a universal that has heater and A/c control. I know I should just probably retain the factory harness but I am not sure what wires will go away with the pcm harness that will effect everything else.

So what I need to know is if I just need to retain the wires between the blower motor and the control panel and run a power and ground for it. The harness I am looking at comes with a A/c compressor control wire in the harness. And from what I understand from the guys that have done the SBC swap before they used their orriginal compressor, then again I think they kept the original chassis harness and just wired in what they needed. But I am planning on changing the gauge cluster and all to suite my needs

And yes I love wiring, I find it relaxing... I am serious

Soumds like.your on the right track. Painless can build just what you need to adapt.

What SBC are you going with? Will the rig still be street legal? Keep in mind that in most states you CANNOT put an engine into a vehicle that is newer then the engine. Def something to make sure of before you get to far. That is of you want it street legal.

I am going to be us a 79 350 punched to a 355, 305 64cc chambered heads, four bolt main conversion. And I already checked Wyoming laws I should be good because we dont have a very serious vehicle inspection its more like look to see if the tires and windshield are good. Plus the exhaust is going to be quite which pretty much covers everthing Wyoming cares about.

I havent started anything yet waiting on a great deal of parts to come in because I dont want to sitting around waiting for something that I need. I will probably order the mounts from AC in a few weeks or so. Plus I need to source a transmission and the t-cases for a doubler. I will be starting hopefully this summer I just want to make sure I have the Technical side of everything like wiring and the sort worked out

haha yeah my local machine shop is going to be taking good care of the heart of the beast to be. I am seriously thinking of either going propane or EFI down the road but for now it is goin to be a good old carb
