ok so apparently there is an ambulance junkyard somewhere around denver the reason why this has some importance is because apparently the alternators out of an ambulance can be installed on to most nissan 4X4's including the hard body, xterra, frontier, and pathy my buddy is a tech for ralph schomp honda and bmw a lot of the techs are ripping the alternators out of old ambulances because they are the biggest and best think how much power those things have to have just wondering if any of you guys have heard of this or done this

Usually, the alternator is a lot larger. However, it's still a Chevy, Ford or (heaven forbid) a Dodge unit that fits on the diesels or large gas burners. I don't see that they'd fit without major modifications. Otherwise, we'd be putting the alternators from 3/4 ton Suburbans on our stuff.

A Quest alternator is pretty much all the power that we need.
