I could not get longer coils in there without doing the long arm now. So I went ahead and started it. Now I can get the rear up higher to work underneath eaiser.

looks good, i'm making progress on mine too. i'm using the balistic fab buckets in the back, so i can fine tune the ride height depending what springs i run. should have the new upper crossmember done today.

You guys are pissing me off! :D
I start getting my parts this week. Hopefully I can get enough time in the next 3 weeks to get it started and completed. Should take a ton less time than Chris' X, hopefully.
I just jinxed myself, didn't I?

That sounds like a great idea. I plan to use 5.5" lift coils front and rear. My progessive ones should arrive wednesday.
Where are the pix?
Ryan I am still looking for your pix? I found the front ones on N4w.

lost the cord for my camera so i stopped taking pics. i can upload them without it, it's just a pain so i haven't been.
i haven't decided about which coils to run, i think i'll see how the stock bronco coils work since i should be able to adjust the buckets down about 5.25" to give me lift. we'll see how it works.

I smashed my sony $50 cable. I rolled over it with a chair. I bought a new one from ebay for $3 BIN.:D Its better design than the OEM one.

Cool thanks,
Ah those look familiar. Wow You really went all out. new upper and lower links, moved the shocks and coils up, moved cross member forward. Wow I am tired just looking at those. I did not realize you did show much work under there. I like the frame though mounts. I was just about to try that up front on the 3 link. But I want the mount just a tad lower.
I was thinking about moving that goofy tube crossmember.

That all worked great last year. It is all getting hacked out in the next week or so. The 233 is going into retirement.

don't worry, he'll get it done. the dude has like 3 other SAS's to do before gone too, and like 11,000 hours of flying scheduled. i think he has one of the those remote controls where he can pause time while he goes and gets stuff done.

You CO guys are making me nervous. Ben took the cab and bed off. Ryan wants to rip out the rears suspension.
Is yours ready Packman?:poke:
My alt lights keeps flashing when I have lights.wipers etc on. Basically only under full load. I just put in a autozone alt last year. And my truck is wandering to the right. Need to fix those two before the lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggg gg drive out there.

mine will be ready. i got the coil buckets out, and the frame crossmember out. need to cut the old link mounts off and weld on new ones, weld in the coil buckets, double shear mounts for the lowers, panhard drop, front drive shaft and exhaust, and shock mounts. nothing compared to what ryan has planned.

Well I fixed the alt issue. The autozone alt has a pulley too skinny. The new factory belt is too wide. The belt is slipping.
I got my new 5.5 progressive springs yesterday. Hopefully I will get them in soon.

sweet pic Ryan I think that's my favorite so far.. Barry we will get it done but trust me it is a little stressfull. I am not going to do the hydro assist before gone but aside from that i think everything else is in order. Last weekend I grabbed a lot of spare parts from the junk yard. Moab only has a couple parts stores so i think it was a good move. It's all about having fun it isn't a competition so i'm sure we will all have a great time. Ryan will probably outflex all of us but he isn't cocky about it so it will be fun...

I no longer take the sway bar off the rear. It leans too much. Still flexes enough with the front 3 link.
Ihad to move the magna flow muffler to clear the p barke cables. The suspension works really good.

bringin this one back up for a few questions.
im going to long arm the rear for now untill i swap in the 14B the end of '09. Barry are those coils you used the 5.5" bronco lift coils? How do you know how much to extend the links and how did you determine the proper location for the frame mounts? Did you just drop the panhard or did it have to be relocated as well? did you use the stock coil buckets?
im thinkin that all you have to do to determine the link length and frame mount locations is keep the same geometry as stock as far as link angles. is this correct?

here is what is what i did, based on ryan's experience. sorry to clutter this thread, but here goes.
build the links. the length will be determined by how much longer you want to go, build them all the same percentage longer than stock. then mount the lowers. then attach the uppers to the axle, and tack them to the frame x-member where you think they should go. they cycle the suspension, watching the pinion angle. then determine how much you need to move the upper x-member, and which way (front to back, up or down), to get the pinion angle to stay constant all the way though the cycle. it will probably take a few tries, so be sure you just tack the x-member because you will have to move it a few times till it's right. took me a while to get it in the exact spot.
that's how ryan and i did it, not speaking for barry here.

wow ...maybe i wont start that this weekend ill get the axle back in and,i will see what time i have left...im working by my self here<------

i talked to Sam(sammyb33) and he said he made his uppers his lowers and then figured out how much longer the new uppers needed to be. i didnt get to talk to him long but im assuming he made new uppers out of some DOM instead of extending the lowers a bunch. im sure he will chime in soon enough......

Yes. I sold the progressive and bought linears. I had cut the first set and they settle too much.
The stock links are 11 and 22. So I moved the lower up and lengthened the upper to 33". You can see were I moved the OEM hangers forward here:
http://nissannut.com/projects/long_arm/bracket_upper_done.jpg
Then I put and angle finder on the bump stop and kept it level connected the new uppers and mounted the premade crossmember. No modifcations to axle.
The panhard was lengthened or shortened a few times. I think its 3/4: longer than stock. My oem solid bar was bent when pathy was purchased. So I made a new DOM one.
