View Full Version : My CO2 Manifold Question

Ok, did a quick search, didn't find what I was looking for.
I want to plumb a 1-4 manifold to my CO2 tank in the back hatch area of my Xterra, so that the 4 outlets w/QDs are near each wheel for quick simultaneous inflation of my tires.
Here's the problem, I need a way to actuate a valve when the manifold pressure reaches a certain (variable depending on the tires I'm running) PSI. What I need is exactly like a pressure solenoid on an air tank to shut off a compressor, but obviously I have no compressor, so it would have to trigger a valve of some sort to stop the flow of CO2. I've looked at McMaster Carr and can't find what I'm looking for.
I'd rather NOT spend a fortune on this, and I realize this isn't likely to happen, but I figured I'd utilize the knowledge base out there.

TIA.

That might work you would need a pressure sensor then also. I'm not sure on the price

Why not get an adjustable regulator? You set it to the tire pressure you want & let the CO2 flow. Once the tire pressure is at your setting, the pressures are equalized and the CO2 flow stops.

I've got an adjustable regulator on my CO2 setup now, but the flow @ 35ish PSI sucks, and would negate the benefits of a high flow CO2 setup. But you're right, I'm making this too complicated :D

So you're trying to do something like this but with out the compressor?

Ah, ya its a sick setup.

I know what you want & can find one for a 120V system. It is an electric switched used in aquariums to regulate the PH with CO2. Instead of a ph meter, you would use a pressure meter.

hmmmmmmmm...that would work perfectly, if it weren't 120 :(
