Well since I am driving from Dallas in my truck I plan to bring some critical spares.

I have a CPS, TPS, ECU, MAF some belts and an ALT. Spare U joints, main frt leaf. Some brake lines.

Does anyone take axles? I have spare frt dana axles I think I will take. The only rear axles I have air drum brake ones. Since the truck is disc there kind of useless. I am having trouble getting the backing plate off. Anyone press one off?

I dont think anyone has broken a rear 31spline H233b at Moab. Right?

I don't think anyone has ever broken one... I'm thinking of taking a spare ring, pinion, and rebuild kit. Aside from that yes the spare axle shafts and u joints for my driveshafts and front axle. Also I will have a spare power steering pump, ps box, starter, belts, tires, rims, and a spare rear axle. And maybe spare fenders because i have the extra fenders already. I feel if I go prepared my chances of something going horribly wrong will be slim. Last time i went with nothing and had no trouble but i only wheeled one day so i feel this will be a little more extreme. And I don't have the strong nissan rear so i've got to take an extra rear axle (D44). I still need to find a spare quest Alt and a quest or maxima electric fan....

I hope not too. Since this is the farthest trip from home. I was thinking about bring a spare shaft. I have only read about a few people breaking them.

I have seen pix of two or 3 broken rear axles. One open and one with a locker. The locked one that broke is on a video on N4w. You hear it break. He was able to drive home though since he had the locker.

Well with my luck if i don't bring it i will break it so i'm hauling alot of junk parts out with me. Most of the parts I have had for awhile and I will use in the future. I would bring the shafts if you have them just so you don't have to worry about it...

Shit...Ryan...why didn't you get some for me? Are you trying to corner the Denver market?

If I get some are you going to send someone to fit me for concrete boots?

I have another yard in mind that needs a visit... see if I can get a few more.

Did you get that long side from sidewinders?

When these suckers run out we have located a kick arse machinist who cuts and splines shafts to size...

We have a few long side chevys changing into long side waggys with him at the moment...

But seriously I carry a Motor Mount, Misc Spare Bolts, Lots of tools, Ready Welder, Wire, 2 tubes of JB Water Weld and others. There are normally very few breakages at Moab. But parts are not easy to come by either.

When I told him I got a D44 from a waggy he flipped out. Kept going on and on about he is the suppose to be the only axle guy in town and that I was going to put him out of business. Then when I told I also got a tcase he just lost it. Started yelling, calling me names, I was so worried aout what he would do, I acually took it all back and am now buying all my parts from him.

I need to find a Motor mount (and get mine chained up), I want to pull some spare shafts from the JY (if thats ok Ryan), then I'm bringing belts, fluids and other little parts. I'm also going to bring some stock stuff for other people that may need them.

Beer is always a good spare part - it can be turned into almost anything you need :)

Hmm... just for that I am going to pee on every waggy axle shaft I dont take.... Have fun with that!!! :yellowsnow:

Or I could be really dirty and put JB weld in the heads of the caliper bolts, or smack the hub with a hammer so the flange will not come out.!

Oh yeah, I finally got my calipers off. Those bolts did not want to let go. The new calipers came with new bolts so I should be good to go.
